Very well explained author a word being said. I must be a visual learner because someone can explain this to me a hundred times before I start to understand. Now I get it after seeing it

Question: In this video you start with center line, shoulder, and overhang markings. Later you mark the vertical with an 8 unit height, and a ratio of 4/8 for each half. But there is no indication of the number of units for shoulder length or the length of the overhang outward. This gives the assumption of a 4 x 8 unit beam, is this correct? For this example: Is the shoulder length 4 units across as well, or 3 units? It looks square when you see it face on, but perspective changes makes me wonder. Is the over hang 1 or 2 units long?

The overhang shouldn't matter and can be as long as you want so long as where your joint is (the 1/1 ratio as per the 4x8 cut in half) stays the same. You can just extend the cut onward and it won't affect the joint. Don't know if I explained myself properly but yeah, your line drawn from the 5th unit to the 6th on the other side can keep going for as long as you want an overhang. Hope this helped. It should be the same pitch... from my knowledge. Correct me if I'm wrong.

And if you really want the specific overhang... you'll notice that the two bottom lines carry out further than the 6th unit on the end of the timber. From the looks of it in the video, it seems that the final line on the face comes out to about a 6.5 in terms of units down from the top. So if you know the math, it might be 1.5 units? Just mental math. I'm probably wrong. But that's the variable you'll use to find it out (the distance from the top to the bottom level line).

It would have been nice to have the unit markings as a grid on all faces, if even just for a few seconds. :)

Thanks. Is there a way to provide for a chinking gap between the logs?

Se aceptan correciones ?? No sería mejor armar los tableros ya armados según su tamaño y luego marcar las colas de milano en cada punta de cada tablero gigante y luego cortarlos para hacerlos encajar como una gran caja cerrada ???? Paredes premoldeadas y desarmables ??..😮...
