The scientist near the saw trap isn’t actually Eli. Eli was the scientist near the first headcrab in the game, as he recalls in HL2 that the last time he saw Gordon was when he sent him up for help.

They added him in Black Mesa because of this. Although I played HL2 when I was 15, I only played HL1 last January. I was expecting On a Rail to be a nightmare after all I've heard about it, but I ended up enjoying it for the most part. I never got lost, but I did get stuck for a while because I was looking for a switch or lever or something to open the blast door with. I expected the same tedium to be had in Xen as well, but still had little issue with it. It's things like these that make me worry that the levels in my game won't be fun to play after all, considering I keep enjoying the parts of games that everyone seem to hate.
@zulubunsen90674 жыл бұрын
Thank you Philip. Having played through the game at least thirty times I pretty much forgot the excitement (and sometimes frustration) it gave me when I first played it. These two videos brought a little back of that feeling. I could list a bunch of ways you could play most parts more "efficiently" (I did cringe a few times), but that would kinda ruin the fun.
@devangnivatkar26494 жыл бұрын
For some reason, I always make a bad quicksave in 'On A Rail'. Once it was with low health with a rocket coming straight at me, then one other time it was right before the 'crescent of doom' with low health. I would end up either killing the soldiers or the turret, but not both for a long time. When I finally managed to get through, it was exhilarating. Then there was this one time I managed to lose the rail cart and did the level on foot somehow, avoiding the electricity of the rails. For this, On A Rail tends to be my most memorable chapter of a playthrough.

3:30 + 4:06 the gun is turning kind of slowly and there is a lot of cover in these rooms - I am pretty sure the intended solution is to run from cover to cover until you are next to the sandbag cover with the mounted gun.
