I adore Lost Coast. I've always been fascinated with cut content and demos, having a small slice of what could have been feels magical. You're never going to see the beautiful view, the kindly fisherman, the tense cliffside firefight and the chopper confrontation ever again, and the fleeting nature of it feels beautiful. Plus, it's classic Half Life 2 combat, even if I prefer the combat from the first game more, and the graphics are just fucking stellar, even better than the graphics in the actual game imo.

Yeah I agree. I don't know what it is about Lost Coast, but I like coming back to it for some reason. I wish they made this into it's own story, maybe instead of Freeman make a new character or something. Idk I just wish there was more for Lost Coast

HL2 was perfectly timed and paced. That's one of the big reasons it's a GOAT. If they had put Episode 1 into the original game, it would've been too long. Probably why lost coast was eliminated too, because this feels like a side mission for Freeman and doesn't fit into his race to Nova Prospekt.

It's a great level to show us the graphics and a new charachter that fisherman all that is excellent and stuff . There's only 2 negative points i have with this level is 1) a way to short campaign it is there to make us the players & fans we are/were drool into something that hasn't been promised for long years which is Half-Life Episode 3 and 2) We couldn't explore more from the map the village , the sea since you get killed pretty fast with those leeches and the other side where there's some sort of reffinery . Glad it was offered free into the orange box . But to me this level left a bitter taste into my mouth "i wanted damn more" as experience . Anyway the water graphics hasn't be made better in todays modern video games and thats a fact .
