This is actually impressive as heck and honestly this is how Half Life Source technically should have been like Keep everything and especially the aesthetic from the source material the way that is while simply improve some of the animations and upgrade the texture work. Extra props for also making it optimized,Playing Half Life Source with the Fan made patch that fixes pretty much everything that game had + this mod would be a delight for replaying.

Oh yeah, that is SMOOTH. This looks so good! Just the nicer animations makes it feel a lot less janky (though I'm sure the gameplay remains its good old grubby HL1 self). It makes me wonder why a lot of modern day retro-style fps games imitate the janky animations of the time instead of doing something like this. It certainly looks better, in my opinion! Historical accuracy, I guess?

My favorite animations are the pistol ones, I like the idle anim for the snark too I do wonder why freeman spins the cylinder for the magnum after reloading but doesn't hk slap, is there a reason for that Very good animations also, great job

Tbh, I would've kept original HL1 sounds, instead of using Black Mesa versions. The audio compression turns Black Mesa weapon sounds into low-bitrate crap when played in-game as we can see in the video.

I would disagree since HL1 weapons sounds are already low-bitrate. Well still better than not changing the bitrate at all, otherwise it'll sounds even worse in hl1. But i see your point, i'll try to add alternate sounds on the future updates.

In my opinion, I'll rather keep Glock, MP5, Tau Cannon and Gluon Gun sound from Half-Life. Because the rest in Black Mesa subjectively feels the weapons have more punch

@@ardantop132na6 Actually Glock sounds from Black Mesa 2012 sounds a lot punchier than what we have now. Same goes to the MP5. The ones in this video uses 2012 version, which is good choice.

Hell, my mind is having stalemate over Tau Cannon charging with either feel energy weapon-ish or Tau Cannon having nuclear meltdown with charge ready sound. Same goes to Gluon Gun to either being a jet engine gun or disintegrating radiation ray.
