TaylorMade released a revamped M4 this year for £279 as well. It is a great club, goes as long as most of the current crop and added 5mph to my avg driver ball speed 151 to 156. Well worth a look.

Great video! After doing some research, I bought the XL Lite today from Amazon. I am currently using the XX10 MP1100 driver. I bought the XL Lite because it has the same rebound frame and grip counterweight as the new XX10 MP1200 series. They are brands belonging to the same family so I am quite sure they share technology amongst themselves. Cannot wait to try it out!

Interesting! Thank you! I think that the Cobra LTDx LS is this year's best buy in terms of money to quality ratio. And for mere mortals because the new face reduces lateral spin, it improves lateral dispersion, which for most is beneficial not to mention hitting bombs too!

Cleveland have always made great clubs , the uhx launchers are a viable alternative to the pxg irons too, and their hi bore type clubs are the most forgiving clubs for anyone to play, this driver looks great

I used a 12 degree Cleveland HB Turbo model driver last season. I improved a lot and eventually was hitting the ball too high. I bought the adjustable XL Launcher and am playing it at 10.5 to 10 degree and have gained 10 m.-15 m and it is more forgiving. In Oz the PXG driver costs more.

I bought a Cleveland XL lite Draw on the back of your advice and I’m getting 20 yards more with very good dispersion. I know I should’ve been fitted but took a risk. To be honest I’ve had driver fittings in the past and haven’t been impressed. My irons were fitted and I would definitely recommend this to anyone. I think you need to get the lie right with irons.

Curious that your club head speed was lower with the lighter version. I could understand ball speed with less mass but swing speed should increase with a longer shaft and lighter club.

I am currently using the Wilson D300 Superlight Driver with a 44 gram stiff shaft, length 44.75 inches. It is the same concept as the Cleveland Launcher with the advantage of having an adjustable hosel. They are still available in good used condition for about half the price of the Cleveland!!

Problem is too many remember the Wilson box sets at K mart years ago. At least I do. Wilson's brand image has suffered for decades as being "cheap". Although I gotta say I have a Wilson 8802 putter currently in my bag and it works well for me. Still hard for me to get past the Wilson driver image I have in my head.

You can buy a Sub 70 839D driver, which is fully adjustable, for US $249. They also make excellent irons.

Nice price, but personally I would be wary of the longer shaft. As soon as I start using a driver shaft that's longer than 45" I start spraying the Ball everywhere

Hi Andy, I am thinking about changing my Taylormade R11 for the XL lite or an used club. Would you recommend Cleveland over used Ping G410 or M1 from Taylormade? I recently purchased the Launcher irons and I am more than happy with them.

Very interesting. Would be great if you done a comparison between the pxg gen 2, 3 and 4 irons, particularly comparing gen 2 as I hear that is where the big change came in and the Gen 2 and 3 are the same lofts.

I bet you can find a Cleveland launcher HB turbo driver from last year for 100 pounds and it will perform exactly the same. Driver tech is less important, more the swing you put on it.

To be fair I brought second hand Cobra HS9 driver the Cobra baffler and the cobra Speed LD Offset M/ST 3 Wood Bassara, in mint condition, what a difference they are so forgiving, I have looked at so many off these wonderful and extremely overrated / priced driver's and irons out there which everyone said that you should buy this or that or this make is the best and the list goes on. To be honest I buy the ones that have been out for a few years try them out if I don't get on with it I resell it. Since I brought these I haven't looked back game has totally been transformed. The only things I brought new is Ram golf irons 6 to SW which are very good and prefer these to the second hand set off irons which were Galloway, but I can not justify paying stupid money for some off these better known brands, all made in china like including Ping Irons and Ping drivers. Like many other American golf companies, Ping also moved some of its production and factory to China 10 years ago for cheap labor and materials. However, quality remains the same just higher profit margins. That's one reason I don't buy additionally they are all overrated by so many professional bloggers KZbin etc, I don't mind reviews perhaps take a average golfer out and review clubs with them using them see what results come from that, perhaps this would provide what is a more forgiving club set. I have seen so many golfer's with all the gear but no idea 😂. Anyway keep up the good work. Paul

Only being able to swing one handed ive always used the Cleveland CG black,with the Miyazaki 39g shaft. Ill try the new lite,but im pretty sure they,ll be zero difference as i love the shaft im using and every single head can only return the ball at 81% of the energy put into it. Taking the new head,and putting it in my old shaft might be interesting though.

To me PXG is way too expensive. But maybe they are changing their marketing. That driver is $229 in the states (PXG 0211) so it's more than reasonable. Although from what I read it's not a "game-fixer" as I perceive the Cleveland XL Lite to be. I think it's just a less expensive version of the PXG 0811 which goes for almost $800 here. I'm confused about their branding. Why would they make a comparable driver to their $800 model for so much less? Doesn't make sense.

I’ve never understood the whole ‘adjustability’ thing. If I went to have a fitting for a new driver surely the fitter would recommend a club to fit my ability, swing speed, etc. at the fitting. Why would I then want to adjust it after that? In the case of the Cleveland XL, once I know the right loft and shaft for my swing, surely the non adjustable Light version should be just fine or am I missing something?

Me too. My game is not sophisticated enough to be constantly changing adjustments. On my current driver I set it twice a few days after buying it and have always kept it on the second setting. That was almost ten years ago.

Nice to see you trying other products rather than the mainstream ones. Should you not have tested club head speed between them rather than ball speed. As ball speed is all down to strike 👍

I would rather buy a new m2 or the old rogue brand new. Same price och cheaper with adjustable head and easy to change shaft if needed. So everything you get from the launcher light plus adjustability and easy to svap shaft
