For anybody wondering using synthetic whalebone (which does kinda look like zip ties) is pretty common in corsets or structured garments and not just in fast fashion For obvious reasons you can't use real whalebone and steel is less flexible and doesn't mold to your body Many hobby sewers actually just use zip ties instead of synthetic whalebone :)

Its actually good she is using an animal friendly product

@@ujjawalk2497 yeah for sure I don't think you could actualy get real whalebone in most countries unless it's vintage (don't know for sure though)

i tried on bustiers multiple times and it never looked good on me, but after a few tries on sewing it for my size, i found a method that worked for me, to buy a bra with the right cup size, cut away the stuff around the cups (but keep the wire) and then placed it on my corset and draped fabric on top. it might be that you don't fit bustier and that you would prefer your wedding dress withput one anyways, but i hope you don't give up on the style yet if you do like it in theory❤️❤️❤️

Congrats on the wedding, and the awesome creativity behind making your own wedding dress! It’s a great excuse to make something really fancy, usually we don’t get that chance much as sewists.

Very pretty. I agree with you on the pleated vs. organic looks. I love the spotted tule. I'm watching Bridgerton s2 this morning and every dress could be in a bridal party 😂 so your video very well fits the mood.

I made my wedding gown. Years and years ago. My mother was really great at sewing and I learned to sew from her. But the only thing I don’t like is, Store bought patterns. I don’t understand them. I make my own pattern. Take measurements and go from there. 🥰🐾

Hey, anyone, I’m thinking of using organza for my corset underneath my wedding dress but I also kind of want to use something not completely see through so then I thought I might use Crepe De Chine because I like the look and feel. Will it still work well for a corset?

Honestly, plastic boning looks like zip ties. Some folks use those instead of buying property baleen. (Steel bones are a different thing, but useful only if you need to tight lace)
