I signed petitions for years, trying to get Hall and Oates into the Hall of Fame. When I discovered they were eligible again in 2013, I voted every single day for them, and encouraged my friends to, also. The night I found out they were getting in was truly one of the happiest nights of my life.
@fluthyhehim665 жыл бұрын
once you're eligible aren't you eligible for good? They released man-eater in 1982, and since I know it has to be 25 years since you released your first album, they should've been eligible in 2007. Once they were eligible they should've stayed eligible, idk why they would become ineligible after being eligible but not making it.

Why would you care? It’s a ridiculous award that they didn’t care about 🤷♂️

They were eligible since 1997. Their first album was "Whole Oats" released in 1972. After being snubbed for 16 years, I didn't even care anymore.

Fabulous performance and a great jazzy rendition of "I Can't Go For That." Excellent way to spice up a performance so that it stays fresh. Darryl Hall and John Oates rock! They also look great after all these years. I think a lot of younger bands would be hard pressed to give such consistently good performances in their mid to late 60s as this duo in 2014. The Rock & Roll hall of fame is a joke, how could they induct someone like Whitney Houston when Tina Turner isn't in? Sadly it's all politics, look how long it took for Bob Seger and his Silver Bullet Band to get in when Bob is arguably among the top ten Rock & Roll singer songwriters of all time, and the Silver Bullet Band is also among the top, with their being one of the tightest, hardest Rockin' bands in all of Rock & Roll history! Come to think of it Rick Derringer isn't even in yet, hell he practically started Rock & Roll, plus his R & R resume is amazing! There must be tons of jealousy involved!

Two of the smoothest, most polished singer/songwriters and performers in the history of rock and roll/soul. I love John Oates, but Daryl's vocal choices are so tasty yet respectful of the originals, considering he doesn't have quite the range he did 30 or 40 years ago. And Charles DeChant, who's been with them since 1976, is the perfect sax player for their style of music. Of course, LFDH has the benefit of being mixed post-recording so the sound is a little better than a HOF performance.

Daryl blew his voice out for a period of time after H & O broke up. He's back at full strength now. Sounding good!

Saw Hall&Oates in 2002 in Atlantic City. In a private Ball Room at the Casino, they let us come right up to the stage, I was resting my arm right up there. So awesome. Great memories..

I was there. Daryl had the most AWESOME tantrum....rightfully so. We were ALL pissed at KISS and the 40 E-Street Band members droning on and on. Hall & Oates starts and, well, you heard part of the tantrum. It was SO rock and roll!!! What a great evening!

I perform for a living and this sound mess is absolutely horrific. Maybe there is a back story but DH had a right to be pissed. This is a HUGE deal and the engineers can't get monitors working AND have big feedback issues. Terrible. Somebody surely got fired. If not, there was something major that caused this behind the scenes.

In the 80s at the time , we all would be partying on the weekends and we all were going around saying "CAN'T GO FOR THAT" every one would LOL. cause we would not know who was going to say it. Good partying days.. Thanks Daryl & Oats for the song and lots of fun with the saying, I still say that at times today

LOVE DARYL'S HAIR AND JOHN'S LOOKS GOOD TOO. BUT WHAT IS REALLY EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL IS THEIR LONG-STANDING MUSIC THAT IS SO UTTERLY TIMELESS AND RARE. I WAS A YOUNG TEEN WHEN THEY WERE PLAYING IN THE LATE 60's. THEY ARE STILL GOING STRONG! BEV...A SOUTHERN GIRL FROM VIRGINIA

tensphreak seems the HOF can’t hire a pro crew for sound. This year’s ceremony (2018) they had issues during Lauren Hill’s performance.... monitors again!

This is what happens when you have a "human" performance, which most "old schoolers" love. Nothing is perfect with analog. Notice these guys are having fun and loving their musicianship together and basking in the reason why they are even there... Who cares if it's not perfect??? Anyone can program a machine to make things perfect.... I guess to each their own.
