Oh wow! Yeah the mechanism was surprisingly faulty for a Hallmark ornament. They usually have very good quality stuff.

@@outsider238 My understanding is that's why it's become an expensive collectible. Hallmark took it off the shelf because of the poor quality, driving down supply which drove up demand.
