What a shame you didn't get or understand 'The Thing' Easter Egg being shown on the T.V. John Carpenter did 'The Thing', remake. I personally wasn't even aware that there was an 'original' black & white version from long ago until I watched Halloween. The second it popped up on screen in the same font as Carpenter's 'The Thing', I literally paused & Googled it curious to see if it was indeed a remake. Low & behold, it was. The original was great! I keep it in my John Carpenter section now because he turned me on to it. That was actually one of the coolest parts of the movie to me. I love little Easter Eggs like that. Had it not been for that scene, I may have never discovered that ancient movie.
