My, how time flies. I was 5 when I met young Hasselhoff back in the prime of Knight Rider, my favorite show at that age. My dad told me to tell him something. As a 5 year old, the only thing came to mind was “I like K.I.T.T.”, so he autographed a picture and wrote “K.I.T.T. likes you, too”. I wonder if he remembers me, haha. One of my earliest memories, so this is very nostalgic.

I was driving to a small parking lot car show when it had closed and on my way, saw K.I.T.T drive right passed me. I was like "NO!!! I MISSED IT!" but then there was a second one sitting there in the lot. Which was cool. Butch Patrick was there with the Dragula too. Which was cool.

Nearing 50 here but man this really brings me back to those fond memories of the 80s with Knight Rider, MacGuyver, The A-Team, Airwolf... What a time to be alive. Never heard of this Rivian either but it was very cool to make this call-back to the 80s. Now I kinda want one of those KITT-scanners in my car (but sadly they're illegal to use in my country).

This is awesome and nostalgic! Rivian should have a disclaimer though, especially for in the US, it is illegal to have red lights on the front of a vehicle unless it is an emergency vehicle. This is why you see KITT replicas with an amber sweeping light instead of red. It may also not be legal to have the sweeping light on the back as well, but I'd have to look that one up.

Very cool advertisement! I loved the Knight Rider series. It was really cool K.I.T.T. and the wristwatch with which you can make video calls. We didn't think that technology would ever become a reality. Although I'm glad that those many buttons and lights didn't become reality, the touch screen is better 😁

This is awesome! Rivian should do more of this. The other EV company has similar stuff and it's lots of fun. Seems like low hanging fruit from an implementation-to-user-enjoyment perspective. Just push some AV updates to the infotainment, lights, etc. No physical changes or engineering to the rest of the car. Not gonna comment about the KITT graphics being all about show and not actual KITT-level of self driving. Again the other EV company has it.
