I wish they could get a proper Knight Rider movie (or tv show)off the ground. I love the idea that Michael Knight would be the new president of the Knight Foundation. This Tesla KITT is pretty awesome. It’s the wheels, the paint job and the red scanner that makes KITT stand out. Who would voice KITT, and who would take Michael’s place behind the wheel? I don’t think anyone could pull it off.

I was fortunate enough to meet the Hoff twice growing up in Hawaii. Once was when they were filming portions of the pilot episode of “BayWatch” (they had to film the underwater scenes in Hawaii instead of California, I assume because the water was warmer, and they used Makai Pier which my dad owned an engineering company on, and I was able to meet the Hoff while they were filming). The second time I met him was years later when they were using the same pier for an episode of “BayWatch Hawaii”. Very friendly guy.

To be clear, Peri isn't *giving* it away, he's selling it. He's just selling it through a raffle mechanism. Minimum 20,000 tickets, minus Raffall's "unlimited tickets sold, 2 month raffle time" fee of £90, then 10% to charity, and lets be generous and say a $10,000 shipping fee to get the car to its destination, Peri's making at least $100,000 off this, if the minimum number of tickets is sold. Half the revenue of the tickets if not enough are sold, and he keeps the car. So if 19,999 tickets are sold, Peri pockets ~$56,000 and keeps the car. If it turns out this is a super-popular raffle, and 40,000 tickets are sold, Peri will be clearing over $200,000 for the car.

​@@-taz- Sure, but with only half a season, and the car not being a true character, there is not much nostalgia for it. Also, I don't remember the car being put into crazy action scenes. There has not been emotional attachment from the audience to the car (an LP 400). But there is nostalgia for others that are re not characters : Ghostbusters' Ecto-1, Batmobile (TV's series and Burton), Outatime DeLorean, the A-Team's GMC Vandura, Starsky & Hutch, The Fall Guy's GMC K2500 Sierra Grande, The Duke's General Lee Dodge Charger, Hardcastle and McCormick's Coyote (inspired by the McLaren M6A). Still KITT is unique, and possibly the one with the most nostalgia of them all, as it was a character ... a witty character :)

KITTesla looks amazing. You done a good job keeping the dream of Knight Rider alive. I’m 52 now and I grew up watching the series when it was first aired in the U.K. in 1982. It’s a shame General Motors hasn’t come up with a modern day successor to the original Pontiac Trans Am. Whereas manufacturers like Porsche have cleverly rehashed the original 911 to look like a modern day Porsche but still looks just as good as the original. Not an easy task to achieve though.

I would change the voice box to a LLM (large language model) which knows everything about kit, and that pretends to be him. It would slow down the answer, but it would be so much more interactive… amazing work, as always! Such a cool thing to do, i love the series 😁👍 (PS: KZbin guidelines say „Your contest must be free of charge to enter“, and the raffall site is…quite shady, at least if you check the sites that know these things. I hope you don’t get in trouble for this ticket selling…)

My Father bought a new car back then and to this day my Father still laughs about me asking him to take to the Car Dealership to trade it my Green Machine for a KiTT Big Wheel. I had BIG Dreams back then haha! Every car I get now is all black exterior... with the exception of a Black and Red car I had.

The difference between KITT and a Tesla is KITT worked. He had a speedo where it is supposed to be and where it makes sense. He didn't randomly drive into trees or houses. He didn't have a habit of self igniting in car parks.

Always good to see David. Only criticism about the action scene recreation: Need a bigger belt buckle. The belt buckle was as much a part of the Knight Rider team as was David and KITT. Great job with the car! It's been fun watching the vision come to reality.

Absolutely beautiful. It is wonderful to see the fandom carrying on into these days when reality can sort of match the dream of the original. Hmmm... "Self Serve" is now an Arco. Interesting. As for KITTesla's voice, we are entering the times when these ChatGTP's can be locally downloaded and run inside the car. And I'm somewhat sure that it is also possible to DeepFake William Daniel's voice locally. But that is just icing on the absolute beauty of this cake. But the real icing on this cake would be to wrap KITTesla in what could be the closest thing we have to MBS... carbon nanotubes. This stuff is relatively new to our world and there is current applications still being figured out for the stuff. Which includes being used on bullet proof vests. It might work out very well on vehicles bodies to further resist those pesky flung rocks and such. But that idea is way over the top. And... you mentioned black tint on the headlights. Which made me think of this stuff that's been around since the real show aired. (I learned about it in an Edmund's Scientific catalog.) I don't think it gets a whole lot of publicity (Do remember a spy movie using it inside an FBI set. They needed privacy and their clear walls fazed to solid black.) and is definitely in line with the show. I forget what it is called and would be a very custom job. But it works sort of like an LCD screen. In one mode, it's perfectly see through. In the other, the liquid crystal turns totally black. In a couple scenes, KITT & KARR's windows go totally black... and I've always wondered if they had tricked out the hero car with this stuff or if it was Hollywood magic. But with this stuff in place, you could easily black out the windows and headlamps on command. Granted, I can't remember if it goes black or clear when the electricity passes through it. Could be a major safety issue if it malfunctioned.

Very cool. 👍 Thing is though, the 2024+ Mustang is the closest thing to a Trans Am you can buy today, and has lane assist, adaptive cruise control, voice assistant, etc. And has a bigger screen. You can’t take your hands off the wheel, but that’s the only limit. Would be a better mod. In any case, Knight Rider is becoming a reality.

When I got my model 3 back in 2019, black was the default colour. I had to pay about £1500 extra to get grey. I really hope you didn't upgrade the paint to grey only to pay for a black wrap.
