Hey Eli. Good suggestion! Once I dig it out and start prepping for this year's haunt I'll try to put together a more comprehensive overview.

I like the way your made yours and I love your advice for getting a drill with the better battery! We had one made for us with an ooga horn by a great friend using the same drill you used by following the Graves of the Groves tutorial. We used it in the middle of our haunt to let the actors in the back end of our haunt know that another group was coming thru. I need one a little louder to replace the disposable air horns that I use at the front of the haunt. Thank you for your video and advice. They sure are a great tool in the haunt.

Hey I had a question for you are you saying that this device is not as loud as a regular air horn you can buy at the store ? I hope not because I would just end up buying one of those instead taking all my time to make this

@@gypsysneakerhead3091 This horn is plenty loud and it's really nice to be able to put it on charge. At our haunted house, I used canned air horns from Walmart. I went thru 2-3 cans a night. And if it was cold out, they wouldn't work. Plus you can't tell when they are about to run out. Make one of these, they are awesome!

?I thought you needed a 12v drill for it to work properly?

I just thought of a great question how long does those batteries last for a typical haunt night are we talking like an hour or two or 3 to 4 hours? Say on heavy use. using it on almost every group let me know from your experience thanks Rather know how many I should buy then going to harbor freight and and buying like 6 batteries

I would definitely get at least 1 spare battery. Have them both charged ahead of time and then leave one on the charger when you're using the other one. They run down pretty quick if you're using it a lot - and it is such an easy scare I use it quite a bit with each group. I've managed alright with our haunt (3-4 hours more or less non-stop) with 2 batteries, but I have to start rationing it a bit. Towards the end of the night I have to swap them pretty regularly to keep it running, which is a hassle. If you have a couple of chargers and 3-4 batteries that would be ideal.

I have to wonder... An old corded power drill instead of battery power?
@charlieaf924 жыл бұрын
Perhaps. Just need to test to ensure that you're getting roughly 12v DC power to the motor leads.
@tbok754 жыл бұрын
@@charlieaf92 right cuz that variable power would affect the horn motor/compressor harder than battery power. I have that same cheap dual horn kit I bought more than 15 years ago I never installed - found in storage recently and wondered if I could do anything fun with it.
