Sean: “Hey I got these really cool Halloween masks you should try on.” Tommy turns on television in one of the nearby hotel rooms. The next thing we see is a couple of meth heads with bugs and snakes all around them lying in the ground. Sean: “You know Tommy if we could figure out a way to hand these out to every meth head we’d be modern day hero’s.” Tommy: “I don’t think I have enough latex and molds for all of them though.”

The Buccaneer moved to it’s present location in 1984. H3 was filmed at what is now a wine shop/liquor store a couple doors down in 1982. Here’s how I found out… Saw the Halloween pinball machine on your channel here and wanted to see where I can play one as you know they’re all sold out. A Korean barbecue joint in Van Nuys has one of two Halloween public pinball machines in So Cal. So weekend party trip planned. Head up from Diego with the wife, and we’ll pick up our daughter along the way. Daughter says she wants to see the Myers’ house and other locales, as she’s recently back into the franchise after seeing Halloween Kills. Hell yeah I’m in, so I dig up info I had from visiting the Halloween movie locations from 2004 and we cruise up just this past weekend. Have a blast seeing a bunch of locations from Halloween, two, and three and the Fog church. Was cool to go back through the alley of part 2, where I had stumbled upon that X on the telephone pole in 2004, knowing I had found the right spot like a treasure map where X marks the spot. The cemetery down the road from the Buccaneer looked same as always of course, with the Sinclair headstone prominent as ever. We moseyed on into The Buccaneer for a round and I found myself not convinced the place was the same as in the movie. Yeah, the paintings match up, but looking closer at the huge one behind the bar, I realized it was hung up and not painted on the wall. Anyway, I was able to talk with the owner who was selling merch out front, and she told me all about it. The history, filming, the artwork, etc. The business has been in her family forever. Drinks are still cheap and strong with good vibes. Highly recommend!

Halloween 3 is my favorite of the Halloween series… while I might be in the minority in this I always found it to be much more interesting and it has to be one of the most underrated horror films of all time. Tom Atkins in one of his best roles as the henpecked beer drinking doctor and Dan O'Herlihy as Conal Cochran was a great performance and such memorable dialogue-“You don't really know much about Halloween. You thought no further than the strange custom of having your children wear masks and go out begging for candy. Conal Cochran: It was the start of the year in our old Celtic lands, and we'd be waiting in our houses of wattles and clay…” -🎃 10:28

Sean if you ever get the chance to see Tommy again can you ask a question please? Who came up with the name Silver Shamrock Novelties? As we know it’s featured in the movie but one tag on one mask has the name Silver Shamrock Enterprises. It’s on the pumpkin mask Challis picks up off the desk in the hospital just after he calls Linda his ex wife. I’m thinking maybe Enterprises was too long a word or maybe not fitting with a mask/toy company theme so they swapped it but it’s cool a tag made it into the movie with the original name. Love the work you do and greetings from a fellow H3 fan in the UK.
