Absolutely loved this episode, I’m a true halo fan and I know keys was supposed to live up to the halo event but he died in a good and emotional way by saving the innocent civilians of reach before his death, “if he’s dead that is”

Keyes dying kind of pisses me off, at least him getting killed this early in the story. Whats really going to piss me off is knowing the next episode is going to be a Kwan focused episode after getting this episode.

10/10 episode for a 9/10 season so far. So much payoff in such a short time. The speech, the sacrifices, and when Chief grabbed the sword. Oh S%&%!

I understand the criticism for not following the lore. But Halo CE was the first game on xbox as a youth, and I was too young to get anywhere on it. Since the series, it's connected Me with my youth, I'm re goinf through CE, a d watching all the lore videos. It's reignited my interest in it, and what I didn't realise was my love for the univetse, I'm engaged again, and I wouldn't have been for 'the shitty series' . I'm hoping this series will re ignite more accurate content for the series and universe.

The main thing here that most of the “die-hard game fans” who are so mad at this show fail to recognize, is that alternate timelines in media are a thing that exist. The show timeline and the game timeline are very obviously not the same. That’s already been shown with the variations. The same primary events occur, like the fall of Reach, but with different minor events leading up to them, and different reasonings. You can’t just write it off as “terrible writing” because it’s not exactly the same as the game you played. Not even the Halo lore is the same as the game you played. This concept is in all facets of media. Take a look at Marvel, or DC superheroes. How many Batman movies have there been, different Bruce Waynes in different timelines with the same primary forces at play, with different details. That’s what’s happening here. They’re telling the story a different way, and you’re mad because they’re doing a good job of it. This episode made grown men cry. People who are true fans of the Halo media aren’t expecting this to be identical to the games. It shouldn’t be. Get over it and enjoy the good work they’re doing.

Yea no I still hate this show. It's an insult to real fans who wanted an actual halo show. And you saying this show is great just proves you have no idea what the games are and are about. Probably never read a single comic either. Tbh I could forgive all the dumb shit this show has done, if Master chief never took his helmet off. Like keep Pablo as the actor but never show his face and bring Steve Downes for the voice. Always wearing the helmet was meant for fans and players to feel like it could be them under the armor. That's why the mystery was so great and noone wanted to see his face anyway.

Yeah the minute I saw they blackface'd captain keys I knew his role was not going to be about being one of the best ship strategist out there. Which thankfully we didn't see. Keep the good stuff for the games.

I see ALOT of hate going towards the Halo Show. Makes me wonder if you're fans of Halo at all.. What do you have to say about the reviews? Are 80% of the public wrong? &* There's an obvious difference between Season 1, and 2. Many things are exactly how they happened in "our" timeline. By the end of this season, I'm willing to bet that everything will connect to precisely how the games are. Ya'll need to let Season 1 be the foundation to what will probably be a BETTER story than the games told. Both Episodes 1, and 2 were outstanding. The Character development is progressing smoothly. If yall paid attention you would realize the things they're connecting.

The keys part was unexpected but i think it was a much better death than the one he got in the Halo game, my only concern is that what we seen was a misdirect to make us think he is dead and i think this would devalue what was a good scene.

I thought the action was good but I personally did not like the overall episode. I scanned through it again, there was 15 minutes of action and 26 minutes of talking, which isn't bad but the themes they used between the action scenes were to contrasting of what the episode was meant to be. Rather then cutting away from the action to talk about personal feelings, they should of focussed more on building suspense, tension and focussed on strategy. Stargate SG-1 had great action episodes at 1/5 the budget. But I do want people to like it and I hope the show does well, It has improved since season 1 and I hope to keep seeing improvements as this has potential.

When ever an IP (Intellectual Property) is converted from one medium to another there is always changes very rarely are the storylines or characters identical, but it never fails that fanboys will absolutely lose their sh*t. Some times the changes may suck, but when you’re trying to appeal to wider audience changes are necessary. People at large want more character development than just action and kicking ass. The series touches on a tragedy that the games totally misses-as awesome as the concept of UNSC Spartans are they are child soldiers the fact that it doesn’t bother the fanboys even a little gives insight into how warped our society actually is. I have seen interviews with the showrunner and the series producer actually they are well aware of the lore, but they are also wanting to fill in some the story with more nuance. Riz’s storyline and development into her own humanity was great. She gave all she could, getting shot up the most out of Silver Team, but in the end she chose to embrace her humanity and become more than a war machine. The last exchange between her and Haulsey was classic. If there is any doubt Haulsey is a narcissistic sociopath, who under the guise of patriotism and the common good, stole children, replaced them with illegal, non viable clones, and turned them into child soldiers with co-dependency issues. Sorry for the diatribe, but as you said the fanboys need to get over it.
