Halo 3 AI Battle - Flood Tanks vs Hunters

This one was hard to do since they both end up resorting to melee and they cannot take any damage in their fronts.

This is funny, because if you think about it the hunters are the perfect warriors for fighting flood. No central nervous system, so they cannot be infected. Molten plasma weapons for easily melting flood bio-mass. Melee is strong enough to destroy corpses so that they cannot be re-infected. Plenty of health for long fights. There are a lot more hunters in existence then you think. Powerful close range and long range weapons.(melee and plasma cannon.) If only there were more hunters fighting the flood.

Since the Covenant now have control of the Didact's Prometheans, they have even more perfect warriors for fighting the Flood. And, the Flood might be making a return in Halo 5 so we might be able to see this in action.

Flood tank forms are incredibly powerful but because they have no attack with splash damage, the only possible way for them to kill a Hunter would be to get lucky and wait for one to turn its back. Which the Hunters don't do. Tank forms are virtually useless against Hunters because of this.

I feel that in-universe, the hunters would easily be overwhelmed by the flood for 2 reasons. 1: The flood don't fight one on one, more like 50 on one with various different forms. Some ranged, some melee. And then there's the infection forms whittling away at the hunters health. 2: The flood forms in this video are not very aggressive, but even when you play yourself you find that the flood are relentless attackers and dont allow you a second to breathe. The constant barrage of flood would prevent the hunters from charging up their cannon to use it much. Greatly reducing their combat effectiveness. The flood would overwhelm the hunters. IMO

TheBlackFalcon I would agree but unfortunately The Sangheili is actually the most powerful unit in the covenant. Most of them we're equivilant to a spartan. 1 being the Arbiter being actually one thing that can rival the Master Cheif. There was also the elite Halve jaw that could do the same. Reason the covenant lost the war was becuase the Profits betrayed the Sangheili which in turn sided with the humans and over powered the brutes. During the Civil war after the Event of halo the Sangheili and the Brutes fought, and the Sangheili came out winners dispite the critical loss. The Legako or Hunters event aid the Brutes in that battle. You can see the out come of the war and a bit of that history if you watch on halowaypoint the video called The Return.

I feel like the large flood forms were originally thought to be infected hunters by bungee, but for whatever reason, they changed it to where they are flood pure forms. I get this idea by looming at how similar they look and fight,armor and plasma cannon aside.

halo onestly, this was the best timed video ever. On a forum I frequent, somebody posted 'Hunters vs Flood Tanks'... and guess what I saw on my recommended videos when I signed onto youtube not less than five minutes ago? Very interesting. Clearly the biggest elements of hunters success is their long ranged weapons and agility, being able to jump in for a melee and then jump back to get distance on the flood tanks.
