@@Marcus001 More like mediocre environments, but good game. Infinite is fun. It's disappointing when it comes to environment variety sure, but damn did it fulfill the more sandboxy halo experience I've craved for so long. No offense to the older games, but there's always been a feeling of limitations in their more story based levels, there's only so many times I could play them without feeling like I've already done everything. Sometimes I just want to mess with the sandbox and experiment.

You should definitely have more areas of Alpha Base open up after you complete missions -- like eventually being able to explore some Forerunner structure stuff, which gets opened up more during a "Flood attack on Alpha Base" mission (letting you see the Flood actually coming from the ring's underbelly passages, and how they transform the area.) Could do cool stuff like have Captain Keyes and other crewmen inside a Forerunner structure as the command post, and even some rooms repurposed as holding cells for Covenant prisoners -- like the Elite that Keyes & Co. interrogate to learn where the "weapons cache" (Flood containment facility) is.

Suppose we should've seen this coming, seeing as this is using the ODST version of Halo 3's engine so it has the functionality for a hub world. Absolutely fantastic work as always, can't wait to try this out!

This! It could even be semi-canon, utilizing marine characters from The Flood novel. This could act as a hub world to marine-based missions that occur from that plot. This could be from landing and recovery on Halo, and then all the way to when the Truth and Reconciliation is reboarded and destroyed.

This is amazing! I'm assuming we won't be going back to Alpha Base after every mission due to how some of them flow together (for example, we're not gonna get teleported by Spark at the end of his titular level, go back to Alpha and THEN magically teleport into the Library) but it's a cool concept! I'm especially keen to see how it changes as the campaign goes on!

I’d imagine the best way to do it is to have your first interaction with this area in between the end of Halo and the beginning of Truth and Reconciliation. Returning after that mission before going to The Silent Cartographer and perhaps returning later in a custom made additional mission. Assault on the Control Room immediately follows up The Silent Cartographer and the later missions go tits up with a side of antediluvian nightmare creatures, which would make a proper return unlikely. Save for an aforementioned additional mission where you try to save marines from the now doomed base.

Will there be any extra storytelling set in Alpha Base? Maybe a community cast of ODSTs could have a side story of briefings , debriefings, squad chatter, and drama with Major Silva. In the novel there were also turrets and Scorpions buried around the edges for defense, which could be a good fit for your Firefight idea

Captain Keys definitely makes sense but only for one time at the "hub", it would be right after you free him in Truth and Reconciliation. You would basically see Alpha Base at its peak here, with the most of the UNSC united that ever occurs. He is planning on raiding the "Armory", you are planning on the Cartographer. Maybe a light covenant attack here, but easy to repulse with tanks, warthogs, and plenty of numbers. Then Keys goes off to die, and you go back to base and it would be at its lowest. Tons of marines were lost in those two operations, or left behind at the cartographer. This would be for Guilty Spark mission, and things change in a crazy way after that. I could see Chief going back to Alpha Base after 2 betrayals, and now there are only a few marines and elite forces left, the ring is taking on an eery glow as it is being terraformed. You then go to rescue Keys again now with some ODSTs to mirror the Covenant raiding the ship with elite forces as well. That mission is a failure, and you go back to Alpha base only to see its under attack. This is a hopeless side mission, it only ends when you escape and the base is overrun. Maybe you get to take some marines and stuff with you, or instead you have to escape on the banshee, with no other survivors. Then Maw of course--would be super interesting to see the base evolve and degrade over time.

If I remember correctly in the books and cut storyboard of CE's cinematics, the center of Alpha Base was built around a forerunner structure similiar to the ones in CE's mission Halo, and there was a command shuttle as well. I haven't the slightest clue what a UNSC "command shuttle" is, but the forerunner structure could be a lot of fun for environmental storytelling! In the book The Flood, there's a hidden series of tunnels underneath the forerunner structure in Alpha Base that the flood used to break out and attack the base. You could do some really melancholic foreshadowing by showing a loosened grate/vent similar to the books that slowly gets more worn over time and eventually before you go to find Keyes during 343 Guilty Spark, you can revisit the vent and hear eerie noises coming from deeper down behind the grate. This project has been an absolute blast watching its development! I'm a mod creator and game dev (forever in training) myself, so I understand how much work and effort goes into this. You're doing incredible stuff for the entire community of Halo Fans. Amazing work!

Creo que Infinite terminó demostrando que 343, incluso Bungie, nunca llegaron a explorar todas las posibilidades de su propio juego. De las muchas propuestas que rondan por ahí, esta es la visión más inteligente y limpia que he visto de un mod de Halo. No sólo por respetar la estética y la escencia del juego original, sino también por fusionar lo mejor que ofrece Halo en su mejor etapa del Xbox 360: las campañas Halo 3 y Halo 3: ODST, tanto en armas, vehículos, habilidades extra, herramientas del HUD, bots, mecánicas, etc. Y no sólo eso, además haces propuestas interesantes y sutiles en cada apartado. Este es mi mod favorito, sin duda. Tristemente los desarrolladores nunca han podido entender por completo la verdadera escencia de Halo, me alegra que hayas decidido plasmar tu visión. Saludos :)

THIS IS THE COOLEST THING EVER also very hard idea to do but maybe there is multible mission entrances and you unlock more of them as you play so maybe for like 343 guilty spark you have to do a mini mission were you drive to a pelacan while fighting off a small wave of covys and it can be blocked off untill you unlock it because of like a shipping cataner is being emptyed and it gets taken by a pelacan before the mission idk but you get the point maybe (i know thats harder said than done but just an idea)

one thing i would add to the base is more covenant equipment (barricades, weapon crates, radio crates, shade and plasma cannon turrets) as said canonically the covenant also saw the place as a great place to set up a base and were doing so until a platoon of ODSTS swept in and captured it from them
