I was quite afraid throughout the video, until you showed the Elites. I hope other factions will show up fast, Spartan on spartan action or UNSC on UNSC action will become stale very fast, if 40k/HH Marines on Marines action is anything to go by. Hyped for the game, will have to see how it is distributed internationaly, and if i can get people on board

Why am I interested in this? I just like the look of the models. And I like cards. And I like terrain that I don’t have to build and paint. And I might actually be able to con a Halo player, or just non tabletop video gamer into giving this a go. I think the intersection of console and tabletop is brilliant.

for the base size, going by the previous statement that a Spartan is 40mm to top of the head, the larger bases shown would be 32mm (doing the classic pixel measurements), while the smaller ones are the 25mm ones from Deadzone (not sure if 32mm is a good size but guess this is what is available) very excited to see the Deadzone rules being combined with a more popular IP as this should make a very good gateway into miniature gaming (with the focus on actual gaming and not just collecting models) PS: and if a Spartan is 40mm, this would make it classic 28mm scale so slightly smaller than the current 40k models

I agree that 32mm is the logical size. If that was a 40mm base, they'd be really rather large Spartans (good). But I didn't want to say 32mm because it's a totally illogical size outside of "can be proxied for GW games".

32mm might be really nice for being able to get nice resin bases. I picked up some Eldar Corsairs recently and holy cow is it rough to find nice looking 28mm resin bases. 30mm is a nice round number but then they're not usable for 40k and the only bases you could find are the Warmachine bases which barely anyone is making anymore

My interest went from low to very high on this game. I'm not a Halo fan, nothing against it, just never got into it. I am a Deadzone fan, but never got into it for a variety of reasons. I agree that the rules and ease of play are huge benefits to Deadzone. I'm not super into the idea of "deathmatch" being the default game mode, but it does seem like this is something that could expand and grow over time.

If it IS Deadzone reskin, i think it's a mistake to not use the name Deadzone in the name. That way you can have SOME name awareness separate from the Halo license.

Looks interesting I thought those minis were a distinct improvement on Enforcers. I’m a fan of the Deadzone Mechanics too.

It would be really cool to see what other expansions they are going to do. If they make a full UNSC and Covenant/Banished model ranges, you might be able to make a full 40k size game system but in Halo.

given that Mantic already has a rule system for platoon sized gaming and a 10mm mass battle game in the works, if Flashpoint is popular it would be the next logical step (but also depends on the license and what they are allowed to use and of course doing going too fast can backfire)

Respawns? Also, It will be cool to see what sort of objectives they have. Assuming some sort of Capture the Flag, King of the hill, Stongholds, and Oddball. All fantastic options.

Ooh, interesting idea, naturally fits into the game. Infinite respawns until you hit the points target (presumably each kill is a point or somesuch)

This is a day one purchase for me. Love halo. Haven't played any games since odst, reach and 3 though. So have missed loads of story

I suppose they have to start somewhere and this sounds like a good start but this isn't what I want from a Halo game. If I wanted to play halo multiplayer I would play halo multiplayer, I think the end goal needs to be expanding this to the scope of deadzone with fully fleshed out factions and a traditional wargaming mode that is simulating a battle not a video game session. I don't think elites are any indication we will see flood or other models in the future as they have been part of the video game multiplayer since halo 2. I'll have to keep an eye on it but right now I see very little reason to play this over deadzone.

100% with you on this. Multiplayer is fun to play but not immersive at all. I want marines and odst fight covenant or flood. 😢

It'd be a waste of the license if they only did Spartan PvP. Especially so if I can't play a spammy force of just grunts. Or replay the Covenant Civil War with Elites vs Brutes. Spartans to start in the box is fine. Videogame PvP style miniature games have never fared well in the tabletop game market, not a good idea to try going niche within the niche of miniature games. If they really, really wanted to do something cool, they should consider a cooperative PvE version.

incredibly hyped for this game. I keep hearing how great Deadzone (and Walking Dead) are mechanically but there was never really thr player base to get people in. a 4 model skirmish game with the Halo License? sign me up lol the Elites look quite crisp so im really hoping these are all hard injection plastic instead of the softer plastic Mantic sometimes uses

Very excited for this despite not knowing much about the halo IP. Deadzobe with better models and terrain I don't have to paint has me hyped! My only concern is I hope the inital release is more than just Spartans. At minimum I hope those elites release alongside the starters

I want to like this but right now it sounds kinda underwhelming. I dont think trying to emulate the halo multiplayer thing sounds fun to me. Id love to see a play test though before i make a final decision. Fingers crossed that it ends up being awesome 🤞🏼
