You can totally skip the 2 jumps for anyone trying thoose and failing Just use the Warthog with the Gaus cannon (make sure youre alone in it) you get after exiting the tube/underground Use the Gaus cannon to snipe every enemy after entering the last area outside shown at 12:00 The covenant wraith wont shoot back at all if youre far away This method i used aswell when going for the speedrun achievement monopolized and it worked great

Okay, i gotta say this revelation I've had. Whenever you drop off the building after the scarab (around 11:20 in the vid), I died over and over again because I had no shields after the rocket jump. I found that the fall killed me every time. HOWEVER, as soon as I crouched while falling, I lived! Figured I'd post to maybe save somebody else some hassle!

So for anyone struggling with rocket jumping I recommend throwing the grenade into the corner. Then rocketing up it will give you a lot of velocity. I also found out where the scarab drops you off that wall with the zigzag texture is lower than the second rocket jump so I recommend doing the same corner rocket jump there

Thanks that helped me get consistent rocket distances too. I had trouble with getting the turret melees in on time so I found pre sniping while waiting to jump onto the scarab really helped (2 shots per turret so they are fizzing).

I think a couple of people have posted similar already, but to those struggling with the grenade jump at 10:50; I found it much easier to beam rifle the two Jackals in that section, with a rocket to the far side of the tunnel entrance (To push the Elite closer to you) and run down and along the left wall. Kill the Elite with a melee attack when you get there and jump/move diagonally in the tunnel to avoid the wraith fire. When you hit the next checkpoint, immediately go back and hang out by the tunnel you just came from as two Ghosts will come from there, one of which you'll want to hijack. You can then take your time in that tunnel and kill the other enemies from afar with your Ghost. Just be careful as they will sometimes approach you, but it's easy enough to back up and avoid their fire. Don't worry too much about conserving your ammo at this point either (aside from saving enough to kill the next two Jackals!) since when you move forwards the enemies in the previous section despawn, so you can go back and pick up a new Beam Rifle (from the Jackal you back smacked earlier) and some Rocket ammo in the small trench separating the first two areas. 15:50 what's actually happening is that they are set to despawn (due to the door opening) but the game doesn't despawn entities if they are in the entity render distance. By zooming with your sniper, you're actually increasing that render distance. This is why, when playing Caïro Station, in the last room Johnson can despawn if you're going to kill the marine in the back for shield. He is set to despawn but won't until you're basically too far away. It's why certain things pop into existence when you get closer (like on the bridge). Don't forget the game was made for the original Xbox so it had pretty bad hardware to run on

For anyone doing this co-op heres a small tip. Before the first rocket jump, when you come out of the tunnel, instead of doing a grenade jump to get up you can bring one of the warthogs and park it just in front of it and then use your friends head to get extra height and just jump up. Lets you keep your over shields leaving a bigger margin of error for you.

I think I found another Strat. I have replicated it twice so far. On the scarab, after the part you kill the 2 grunts below, there are 3 elites left. Go up and melee the front turret. This then draws the 3 elites up to top deck. Then can rocket them off. I just died cos shot rocket too close to me. Will try a 3rd time to see if it agros consistently. Edit: just finished and this is how I lured 3 elites up. Kill the below 3 grunts. Go to front turret melee twice. 1 elite or if lucky, 2 elites (I got lucky) come up. Rocket them off. Go to front turret again and melee twice. 3rd elite should come up and can rocket off

A faster way of despawning the wraith battle is to go back to the Bowl of Death (what I call that Jackal hell part), do a lap there then return.

Every time I did the rocket jumps i was either dying or not going high enough. After about an hour of trying I finally I did it and it turned out I was shooting the rocket too quickly after jumping. I did the 2nd rocket jump first try when I left it a split second longer to shoot the rocket. Hopefully this helps someone.

If ur struggling with the rocket jump, I find that the position of the grenade and rocket matter a lot. If you just watch where silver stands, theres 3 tan lines on the floor and wall where he jumps. There’s one he is centered on and one to the right he bounces the grenade off and one to the left he shoots the rocket at. Once I focused on having good placement on that, the timing seemed like it was much more forgiving. Hope this helps

Just wanted to add something: If you don't have enough frag grenades or can't reliably melee the second scarab turret before it despawns, you can do a rocket jump off the top platform of the scarab onto the upper section of buildings on the scarab's right side. You still have to destroy the first turret and crouch to make it reliably (It is also faster). That I how I made it through the 9:47-11:03 section of my LASO run.

For anyone curious, the despawn of the Wraiths is tied to your zoom, but it's more complicated than that. What *actually* triggers the Despawn is Cortana's line about "there's a marine commander in that building," I tested multiple times and zooming out every time she said that despawned all enemies.

I was having a lotta trouble with bxb, so I just shot both turrets twice with the beam rifle before jumping on, and had plenty beam left for the rest of the mission. Could def shoot both 3-4 times if you wanted

But there's no point to shooting them. The reason he melee attacks them is to gain shield. If you don't need the shield, you can just leave them be and go to the belly of the Scarab and wait for despawn.

You'll want to so you have enough shields for the last grenade/rocket jump. You want to use the BXB glitch to melee faster (melee, reload, melee) and you want to use your rockets to melee the turrets since rockets carry more melee damage. If you still aren't quick enough with those strats, try shooting the front turret with your beam rifle when the scarab is walking towards you while you're waiting on the ledge. That way the first turret will be weaker and take fewer melees to destroy once you board the scarab and you could move on to that 2nd turret faster. Just make sure you don't destroy it entirely via beam rifle!

If you’re having trouble beating down both turrets, hit the front with the beam rifle until static shows on screen, then jump on and beat it down easier. Then as you’re moving to the back you can fire a couple more beam rifle for the second turret before you beat it down. Helps if you are struggling with BXB. Thanks man!!

Great, I’ve got to the 2nd g+r jump after only having destroyed one scarab turret, but I’ve got the checkpoint above the dome... I just keep dying😫 EDIT: I ended up running back to where you come out of the underground and dropped down, all enemies had despawned. I grabbed a fresh beam rifle and picked off the snipers in the next section, and baited the ghost to the corner where the launcher is on the floor. Hijacked the ghost and boosted past the wraith. Then picked back up with the guide, just had to fight 2 ghosts instead of one before the 2 wraiths. So all good baby! 😉 Onto Arby...

@@TheThirdBiffalo I didn't jump down to the original area immediately, but rather went to the same level as the 2nd jump, and used grenades to jump a shorter wall opposite of the jump. Once on that wall, you can easily jump down to the original area. (Some snipers and the wraith can see you when making the jump, so you gotta be fast about it)

I did it by sniping the jackets, going on the opposite side of the dome, drop down, meleed the elite but then kept dying by that stray waith bullets. Doing it your way is much safer since you get to kill the Deployable turrets.

I think the despawn for the wraiths and ghosts is related to the zoom. I did a quick zoom when Cortana said something before her "we need to link up" line and they immediately despawned and even left some of the dropped in marines alive.

Big tip for anyone struggling to get to the belly of the scarab before it despawn. It actually despawns once it gets to the wall so you want to jump as early as possible. I personally copy Silver when he jumps I look at the scarabs legs and try to jump at the same time as him. I then do the first melee on the front turret as I jump onto the bit underneath it then with the back one I go right to the edge and crouch and then do the melee glitch. This way I was in the belly of the scarab for like 5 seconds before it despawns 😂

If you ended metropolis with sword like I did, stay with sword to scarab guns, Just hit 4 times with sword and then 1 time with rocket so you destroy it faster and still get over shield

I didn't realize that I was doing these as you were uploading them. I have several comments on all your laso guides that I haven't bothered to post, but this is interesting. When I completed this mission having done it your way all but the rocket and nade jumps (I forgot to grab the launcher in the beginning) I was awarded with the Commuter (heroic or legendary without driving) achievement even though I drove every available vehicle. Also the area you skip with the first rocket jump is really easy. There is a launcher just passed it to do the second rocket jump but I decided not to at that point. You can also drive the tank right up to the round tunnel if you want and kill the one jackal with it not much but it gives you a bit more use for Johnson's wonderful present. Inside the scarab the pilots are triggered by the beam rifle because it hits them on the ricochet from the grunts. And I am almost entirely positive that the despawn for the last wraith area is entirely scripted and timed after you trigger it by going into that area far enough. My biggest comment on every LASO video is that anyone playing through LASO is familiar with some things like the tank chain gun so there is no need to spend so much time explaining them. Conversely, you gloss over some glitches or jumps as if they are easy or they have nothing to them. often you say "just jump up here" when you mean to say "just crouch jump up here." Not a huge deal but it has cost me some time when I followed you too literally sometimes. While I already wrote you a paragraph I will add one from the last video, The jump that you had trouble on where you are near the satellite, you can avoid that spot by jumping onto the satellite dish and then onto the thing behind it with a crouch jump and then directly onto the roof there. No need to use that pole on the wall.

You got the achievement because when you save and quit the game considers it starting from the beginning with iron on. So if you did that after the parts you used a vehicle, the game says "oh all's he did was jump on the scarab, no vehicles".

You can easily kill the hiding invisible elites with the tank. Drive all the way forward and you can see them looking back. You can also bring the tank past the next barrier and use it to kill the jackal lessening the risk Im not sure what happened but I had 3 frags and saved and quit and started again but when I got to the jump part I only had one for some reason. I was able to make the first jump with a plasma but couldnt get the 2nd to work. Could probably pull it off if you could time two plasmas but that is pretty difficult. I couldnt pull it off so I just used the speed run method and drove through the next section. Going along the right side down the ramp seems to be a safe way to go although I got sniped by a jackal once and took away my 2x overshield leaving me with very little shield for the tank and I got a checkpoint at the part with the tank and 2 ghosts so I had to RNG it. Eventually I was able to get past without blowing up. The elite with the plasma rifle did more damage than the wraith turret which is ridiculous. Aim for the elite with the warthog to make him at least dive to avoid significant damage. I dont think you need to do anything with the ghosts at the start of the wraith and jackal section. I skipped by, took out the jackals from the left. Got health from the cars and after a min or so went back and all the ghosts were gone. The warthog was driving around the wraiths and it did so on many reloads. I was able to despawn the wraiths like in the video and complete the level with the remainder of this guide.

Did you drive the hog to the left of the wraiths? You need to do that + kill the 3 marines (usually 2 in the hog and 1 on foot). Then you have to stand there for a few minutes.

Pretty much a cakewalk. I wasn't the one who did the rocket and grenade jumps, but my partner got them all on the first try and only died after getting at least the first checkpoint after the exploit. We had a few minutes of struggling with the Scarab, which I kind of expected since you have to go in and bait the others out, but mostly it was me blowing myself up with rockets. Eventually I just stayed up top while they lured the elites out and I'd rocket them once my partner was in the clear. Pretty simple and the level was over before I knew it. Guess the only note worth adding is that in co-op, keep your partner in the tunnel and have them wait unless they also have a rocket and, for some reason, want to join you (I wouldn't though, extra risk, little reward). After they cleared the snipers and despawned the rest, once they moved upstairs a little past the rocket guy (just near the door outside where you watch the tank get blown up), I was teleported to their position. From there you have plenty of ammo and weapons to complete your task.

The standard strat is to assassinate that jackal, keep moving forward so you drop down, keep walking forward so you intercept that gauss hog circling the area and just drive to the next section. Could work on the first try, could get sniped by all the beam rifles

Actually, you don't really need rocket and grenade jump you can easily take warthog from the first segment of the mission where you leave your scorpion you take warthog and you drive trough the enemies quite easily but you might need a full double shield for that.

We ended up beating the whole game laso but it didn't give me the achievement because it said i didn't complete one mission even though i know i did them all, and because its in a playlist i can't just do that one mission, I'd have to do half the campaign

@@Billonator117 damn that really sucks. There's a dumb glitch for co-op on halo 2 Laso where it'll skip Heretic and the armory as in they won't count. They technically aren't able to be done co-op so you'd have to do them by yourself and then partner up for cairo station. Got screwed over on the master chief saga playlist in co-op because for some reason it didn't count The Maw for CE I don't know why and didn't count Heretic for the same reason as before. At least it's on normal but it's still BS. That's why now we always make sure it's completed afterwards. It feels like being on new graphics may cause the crash to be more likely to happen but idk have no idea to be honest Wish 343 would fix these problems that have been here since launch 😒

Alright i made it but in a different way in fact after the first nade and rocket jump i was too bad to take down the second turret on the scarab ( i was using the melee + reload button but too far ) so i decided to just destroy one turret but the problem is that now i can t do the 2nd jump so i finish the mission legitly : So here i am at the checkpoint with the one wraith just after the phase of 1000 jackals sniper. You have to kill the 2 jackals sniper at the entry of the fountain next you try to make the wraith go the more close of you after this you jump from the roof where you get here by the 1st jump and shoot a rocket on the elite to make bump him far from the entry. Next you rush the far left and you regen your shield with somme vehicle and you will try to bait an alone ghost ( pretty easy when you stay in the back left ) when you have your ghost ready continue the road and take the first left, here you can regen your shield and kill the two jackals. Now you can try to wait the pelican until the door open and rush with your ghost ( don t be afraid to smash some marines ) next step do what silver says ^^

If you fire the rocket at the right side of the second wall and throw a frag grenade at the left side of the second wall will it still launch you high enough

Yeah, the same force will be applied. You want to throw the grenade first, though, whichever side you choose so it has a chance to go off while you jump and shoot the rocket.

It should be one of the options in the pre-game lobby. I believe it's under the option to have Scoring or Timing on. Also, you can just hit the Back button on controller or Tab on M/KB mid-game to change the graphics while you're playing.

Yeah theres another friendly marine with rockets that spawns on the side of the bridge when you get to the middle of it. Your buddy can grab those and follow along if you want. Or you can just leave him behind and he'll warp to you eventually I believe. Not 100% on what happens, but someone said it worked out for them coop.

i messed up by forgetting to kill the sniper jackals at the end before spawning in the ghost, but it was a salvageable situation. had to fight 3 ghosts instead of 1 and they took out the marines easily. boarded one ghost and took it to the corner where we dropped down initially and killed the others from behind the vehicles, then killed the snipers and proceeded as normally

You don't have to beat both turrets on the scarab, if you do the first 2 grenade jumps with the least amount of damage, you should have enough shield for the last jump if you destroy one turret (just minimize your damage). I just completed it. Awesome guide though, thanks! :D

My weapons from the previous mission are gone and my graphics preset is changed back to remastered too. Its weird, I honestly enjoy laso without the constant fear of saving and quitting. @@GenocideLv Did you know Halo 2 is literally impossible on LASO without using exploits? For example, you cannot kill Regret with the intended way, you have to use the grenade / sword glitch to damage him. Also, this is simply a guide for the easiest and most reliable possible method to get the achievement, because this channel is an achievement hunting channel. I would also argue that many of the skips shown in this series are actually challenging to pull off, whereas LASO is just a test of patience and endurance.

Just an FYI, if you don't have enough frags for the last grenade jump, you can spend half an hour attempting to do it with two plasma grenades + the rocket and eventually still make it!
