Top tip for anyone struggling... If you die... Just quickly pause the game and save/quit (do not restart). When you rejoin the game, make sure you go back to the main menu and click resume game (NOT START THROUGH THE MISSION SELECT SCREEN). I died to the sword guy but save/quitted and restarted from the last check point... Achievement popped up!

I didn't have overshields for the final sprint and he was hot on my tail. Luckly, they need to stop briefly before swinging, so they technically cannout hit you if you run in a straight line away from them and take ever corner as perfectly as possible.

Haha, same. I was on such low HP when I got to that part and was 100% sure I was going to die... but then I survived and screamed in excitement. That is definitely the scariest part.

I did it first try through the whole level, forgot to skip going down so the sword elite was with a blue one who thankfully delayed the sword guy in the small hall for a bit. I ended up with 1 health bar since I had no overshield coming out. Ran to the cave on the left (when exiting) the building and as I made my way down to go get the overshield the sword elite appeared in that entrance. About crapped myself. I had to run back out with everyone and their mother attacking as the pelican took ages to land hoping around praying lol. So stressful, but it was fun to do it without cheesing

I don't know about ten months ago, but now the achievements demands that you can't use checkpoints or die.. so that elite is basically the worst thing even on easy

@@Seinkal checkpoints count as restarting, but if you save quit then resume from the main menu you still get the achievement, that's how I got it 3 minutes ago :))

Silver, after watching your video it gave me the idea to make this even easier. Now we all know that in order to grab this achievement one of the things you can't do is fire your weapons, but that doesn't mean that your marines in a warthog can't fire their weapons. When the level starts stay with your marines at the beach and when the fight ends get in the warthog with 2 marines. On easy difficulty most if not all of the marines will survive. Let the marines shoot anything that moves, you don't have to splatter anything. Then drive the warthog down into the control room and splatter everything and then leave it parked there for when the sword elite comes for you at the end of the mission, they will provide a distraction for you while you escape. The marines won't or can't kill the elite on easy but the elite will forget about you and that's the important part. Got the achievement on my first try with this method.

On Legendary the marines in the hog will start firing on the sword elite before you even see him and they will kill him, but on easy the marines will shoot at the elite but he doesn't die and his sword can't reach them while they're in the hog.

Getting this achievement was one of the most stressful experiences of my life.

As of January 2024, this achievement should be extremely easy even on Legendary, thanks to Acrophobia skull. You can literally fly through the door before it locks, fly down to the cartographer, activate it, pick up the overshield there, fly back up, fly outside to a cliff, and wait for Echo 419 to arrive.

That sword elite was the bane of my existence when I was attempting this a few minutes ago.Tip that worked for me:if you die,save and quit.Then resume.I died to him multiple times, saving and quiting when I died,and got the Pacifist achievement. Edit:I had no clue it would work,but I had my hopes when I was doing it,and it worked.

Thanks for this video! I unlocked this achievement on my first try doing it on Easy. Killing the enemies by running them over with a Warthog does not prevent from unlocking it as somebody in the comments section helpfully pointed out that useful fact. I ran over so many enemies unlocking this achievement.

Caleb Imrie Caleb Imrie is beating a mission on easiest difficulty in an ordinary fashion achievement worthy ? because you get one for every mission in this game. Is finding a glitch achievement worthy ? Is an NPC saying a random line of dialogue achievement worthy ? There’s a bunch of those. In MCC there are loads of pointless achievements that 5 year olds could get but I bet you didn’t complain when you got any of those. This one is a change from your usual Halo “shooting your way out” and I personally welcome it

there's an alternate easy way to bypass the sword elite - park your warthog in the door. when you run buy the elite he enrages first, which is more than enough time to jump into the driver seat, backup slightly, and then get out.

I managed to jam a Warthog into the door before the Covenant locked it, bypassing like half the level in the process. When I came back the hog was still there blocking the door, and I couldn't back it out. Thankfully, the gold Elite couldn't reach me, so I just tried finangling around and was eventually able to get just enough hog past the door to get out. After that, it was a straight shot to the end.

TIP FOR GOLD ELITE: I parked the warthog at the entrance of the cartographer and when I came out it trapped the elite.

To people doing this and having trouble with the sword elite, you can drive the warthog into there and block off the door you unlocked earlier in the level, leave enough room for you to just squeeze through. When you come back out you can pass by it, but if placed well it'll break his pathing and he'll stop chasing you.

I can confirm you CAN kill by running over enemies in the Warthog and still get the achievement. I used it to run over all the mobs at the entrance to the map building, then drove it down a couple floors to just outside the door that was locked. On the way back I ran by the sword elite and then hopped in and ran him over.

Because I am a sucker for punishment, I figured I would do this and Feet Firmly Planted at the same time (complete a level without jumping). Since I was struggling with the golden boi near the end, I decided to employ Silver's legendary run through tip, and drive the warthog into the building as far as it goes. That way when it came time to try and outrun the golden elite, I just hopped in the warthog and drove up. Worked like a charm, if I wasn't a dummy and did jump into the pelican at the last second of the mission I would have popped both achievements. In any case this is great for beating the only hard part of this achievement!

I got to the beach with the sword elite chasing me, he swiped at me and got me but the overshield absorbed it, and when I tried doing the box trick, one of the hunters from above killed the sword elite so I was very lucky and extremely happy. Thanks for the guide!

6:43 this happened on my first attempt, I got stuck by a jackal in that small hallway after getting the camo for like 5 seconds, and by the time I reached the first hunter camo expired so that was rough. My overshield was pretty depleted by the time I got to the sword elite so I tried baiting him on that platform but I fell to my death on accident lol. Second attempt RNG was on my side and I was doing perfect, but a jackal overcharged me and fully depleted my shield before I even got the sword elite so I save quit and resumed, complete the level and still got the achievement. PSA!! If something goes wrong, save/quit, back out to main menu and resume! Saved me a headache. Thanks for the guide I get lost in the building :)

I used a warthog with marines to shoot/splatter enemies. The sword elite felt a little dicey but your method of running out on the platform and turning around to run by worked fine for me. Then it was a mad dash to the beach to get another warthog to come back with and splatter the camo elites/hunters before I got into the pelican. I unlocked both the pacifist achievement and the par time together first try, thanks for your guide!

your vids are great! One tip is to use your warthog to block the door that the elite stands at. You jump in the turrent when running back upstairs, then rotate it around and when you jump out it will put you in the passenger seat. Then jump out again and you can run while he's stuck behind the warthog.

Just done this and damn that sword elite is scary af! I had full OV and he hit me twice when I was running away. Got to the top and health was flashing red just in time for the hunters and elites to shoot at me. Somehow missed me killing the sword elite! How on earth did I survive that 😂

Great guide. I'm not sure about this but it seems like the sword elite can catch you a **lot** easier on the PC version of MCC right now. I feel like he moves a lot faster or that you move a lot slower when running up inclines. I followed your method of luring him out onto that little overhang but I had to park my warthog in a way that I could jump over it but the sword elite would get stuck. He would catch me on the beach 100% of the time otherwise. Just a tip for anyone on PC having trouble with it.

Those LASO and speedrun achievements are going to be tough. I'll definitely be coming out with some guides on those, but I'm not sure when yet. The speedruns may be fairly soon, but the LASO ones are going to take a good amount of time and research to put together so they probably won't be in the immediate future. I don't have a twitch account set up yet, but it's something I'm definitely thinking about. I'll probably set it up once I'm closer to finishing these MCC guides in a couple months. I'll let you know when I do :)

This is such a good video. That fricken elite with the sword though killed me after doing all this perfectly. I swear he's faster than me. I briefly evaded him, and he just kept gaining on me. I think with the overshield on, he gave me three swipes to the back and killed me. Now I don't feel like restarting and doing it all over. :(

Just kidding, I was frustrated so I tried again. I got it this time though. This time the sword Elite didn't follow me up the ramp at all. But I had horrible luck with Jackals immediately taking down my overshield every time I got it. Also, i can confirm that you can get splatter kills with the warthog and still get the Pacifist achievement.

Advice against the gold elite at the end, block the door he is guarding with the warthog, splatter kills DO NOT affect achievement. Make it so you just jump over it and he won't (shouldn't).

I heard in a youtube video that the horn is coded as a weapon in the game files, which explains why honking the horn nulls the achievement.

That would also explain why in H2 there was a bug that made the Hog shoot a scarab gun round whenever the Scarab skull was enabled and you honked the horn.

This seems at first like one of the those easier achievements, like how the one ODST Vidmaster challenge is like quite easy on Uplift Reserve. But then you read *without dying or restarting* and suddenly I realize the challenge here

Made it all the way to the end and then an invisible elite blocked me and a hunter insta killed me with a shield bash. Holy shit this is frustrating!! Edit: I went to the main menu because I failed, thought I'd reload anyway to get the par time achievement and it gave me the Pacifist achievement too, even though I loaded a checkpoint.

Did this achievement today. Didn't splatter any enemies, just ran on through while keeping the overshield intact. Used the warthog just to get to places faster. When I reached the cartographer I let the elites get rid of the remainder of my overshield then picked up the fresh one nearby. Hoofed it to the camo and stealthfully made my way back up to the Hunter room and exit when it ran out. Got to the corridor with the sword elite and managed to bait him on the bridge. Ran up the stairs and outside taking the left side down to the beach. Went to the other side and up the rocky grass path back to the platform. By the time I got there the pelican had arrived so I just ducked and weaved around the enemies to quickly hop in the back. Don't know my time but it was good enough to get that achievement as well. Glad I didn't have to use the tricks everyone else did, makes my victory even more sweeter :)

You can splatter enemies and still get the achievement. Also you can weasel a warthog down to the entrance where the elite with the energy sword is. You can run past him, get through the doorway, hop in the warthog and splatter him. Makes it much easier not worrying about him assassinating you.

Just done this achievement alongside feet firmly planted at the same time. You can save and quite if you die and you can splatter enemies with the hog no issue. Would reccomend to park the hog in the end tunnel where the sword elite spawns. Can jump in the hog, run him over and anyone else and drive out to the beach until the pelican comes. I ran down all the birds, hunters, grunts and elites at the last building in the hog and backed it up into the building. When the sword guy was chasing me I get in the car and he instantly died from touching it trying to get me, drove out did some donuts on the beach then jumped in the ship. Took me a few tries falling off from that damn sword guy.

Ok just confirmed, you can splatter enemies with the warthog. I just completed the achievement with the stealth elites at the end of the level.

You can also take the warthog down there and park it in front of the doorway as a barrier. You can park it to leave enough space for you to walk around it. For some reason the gold elite won't be able to walk around it.

Couldn't get away from the sword elite, no matter how hard I tried. I grabbed a Warthog, picked up two marines, and parked it in the small room at the bottom of the stairs. They killed the sword elite as soon as he spawned in. As an added bonus, the kill the cloaked elites as you progress back outside.

Easy way to not have the Elite follow you is drive the warthog into that hallway and block part of the door he spawns by. You can jump it and he will get stuck

Can confirm that you can still splatter enemies with warthog. Also, I found it easy to leave warthog backed up ready to drive out after you see the gold elite. Run straight to warthog and drive out

You can split enemies with the warthog and earn the achievement :)

I got the achievement while splattering enemies in the warthog with marines. I took the warthog down to the entrance but it didn't distract the gold elite for me. He blocked me then chased me to the ledge and attacked but luckily my overshield saved me and he fell off the platform. I was pretty spooked. Overall a pretty easy achievement.

Just did this one and no jumping on first attempt. Confirming that you can splatter enemies in the warthog (I drove it all the way down to the door inside / the speed run trick).

I just cheesed my way into getting this achievement on legandary lol. I was going for the par score achievement, and I was save-scumming to do it. Every time you die, immediately save/quit, then when you re-enter the game your death, the score reduction and whatever time elapsed since your last checkpoint are removed, and you can just go from your checkpoint like nothing happened. Apparently this also resets the grenade/kill/melee counter for this achievement, because I did this right before getting into the pelican. Still ran over 2 hunters but apparently they don't count lol.

Pro Tip: You can kill the gold elite by making him jump off the platform. Ran pass by him, and then wait for him to get close before jumping. You might get hit (I did), but he can still fall off. I just got the achievement on the first try and intentionally did it. Made the ending simpler, just wait for the pelican to land by hiding under the area.
