I really do miss the good old days of Halo when it was much like a party game. When halo 3 released, there was nothing but laughs and wacky fun shit going on and hilarious random people. Only a small percentage were tryhards back then, but now it's like every joe schmo is dedicating his life to playing just like the pros. Theres zero vibes/personality, everyone just acts like the same generic mlg wannabe. Its like you said, its an echo chamber. Those people out there who still vouch for 343 are on prozac or something.

Points for loving Halo 3 the most. Custom games and social slayer will always have a fondness in our hearts, and could re-ignite again with a H3 anniversary. However, myself personally and many others do appreciate the competitive MLG side of Halo 3, it’s elegant and beautiful and balanced. I lament with you that the days of true casual social matching, vehicle fun etc.. isn’t as prevalent but that is because the majority of players left are more hardcore. They have simply gotten too good at the game over years to want to drive an elephant around. They want to go get headshots, multi kills, and win the game for their team. And I love that. I don’t blame 343 - they HAVE to put something in place to try and make some games close. Halo 3 just doesn’t have the player base to support all those different aspects of halo fun online. With that said, I’m just grateful that my favorite game from 2007 can still be played, I can still find matches fast - and for the casual fans I just recommend playing in the evening and searching BTB they tend to be a lot more casual, vehicle focused, and fun in that sense. I always play BtB when I want to just relax and mess around and play 4s when I want to dial in and really try.

343s worse then EA. They turned Halo 4 into a COD clone, Halo 5 they copied titanfalls advanced movement system along with the game changing microtransactions, and Halo Infinite is an empty husk. And the MCC, a collection of Bungies already perfect complete games, they completely botched.
@BrokenCircle12 жыл бұрын
100% agree about the EA thing, I actually liked Titanfall but 343 copied the system in an inferior way. All they do is make worse versions of everything else. #fire343 Thanks for watching.

I don't even see what the sweatlords get out of stomping noobs. When I'm on the winning side and its an absolute steamroll it's very boring. Fun matches are close matches that go back and forth. These are few and far between now sadly. Not worth playing anymore. I think 343 intentionally sabotaged MCC because Infinite was a total failure.

Bungie’s ranking system allowed for outcomes to happen naturally… organically… 343 engineers the outcomes. The numbers might end up looking similar, or more ideal even by 343’s standards, but it’s a vastly different experience in how it plays out in real time. It’s not fun…

@@BrokenCircle1 Completely rigged… how is it fun knowing that the game is going to have it out for you if you perform too well? It’s like there’s an additional layer or metric to it that shouldn’t be there. I want to go in with no percentage of winning or losing… no “planned” or pre-canned, “designed” outcome… just pit me against players that had to work their way up the same ladder as I did. Give me a simple, consistent set of mechanics, with some margin for error, you know a real spectrum of skill to master… and let people duke it out, fair and square. There’s way too much shenanigans built into 343’s games.

@@BrokenCircle1 I wanted to try BTB in Infinite but I just can't seem to find a match or it just crashes. Also in Halo 5 I only play Firefight. Last time I played team slayer it was the most competitive and unfun online experience I had. Also goddamit I wasted my time watching FireFall to get the ODST set just to not get the helmet. I got the armor but not the helmet. You get the helmet by watching episode 4. You get the armor by watching all episodes. My god 343 tries anything and they fuck it up some how. @@EthanTheDinoNerd Lol that last line made me chuckle. Yeah Warzone Firefight was the only cool part about Halo 5, I forgot about that to be honest. Kinda just wish there was an option to play it singleplayer. BTB on Infinite rarely works for me, I usually try to play with my girlfriend and for some reason 343 really doesn't like when people has those as it never wants to let her join. Honestly beyond fed up with it all.

@@BrokenCircle1 can't believe it happened the second time with 343 halo. My brother wants to play a new Halo co-op split screen experience together but 5 and Infinite doesn't have that. @@EthanTheDinoNerd Yeah exactly. Halo is a joke now. The excuses people have for Halos drastic decline in popularity are just that. Excuses. It isn't that 'there's more competition' or that 'most Halo fans grew up and don't play games anymore'. It's the fact that everything 343 puts out is a broken gimmicky mess that only seeks to make as much money as possible with as little effort and care.

Good video. I do agree that halo has become more competitive than it should, and the progression and challenges are ass. Blaming this all on 343 feels too harsh though (at least to me). Bungie fine-tuned and perfected the halo formula over the course of 10 years, and I think halo as a franchise needs to be put to rest. Microsoft tells 343 to make another halo so they can charge $60 for it, and 343 is forced to make a game that appeals to old players (who basically just want old halo), and appeal to newer players, e.g. going open-world, a battle pass, and a last-man-standing game mode. They want 343 to milk the shit out of the cash cow that is halo, and now the cow is dying. 343 is definitely to blame for a lot of things that went wrong with halo infinite; like the terrible progression, the lack of support, updates, and forge, but I also think that we have to blame gaming becoming industrialized, and everything becoming monetized. Nowadays, we just have these triple-a developers rushing out broken games for a cheap cash grab. The problem isn't that its made by 343 (even though they are a bad studio), the problem is that we don't have studios who make games as a passion, or so the players can have fun. We have companies that want to make money. Just take a look at Call of Duty or Battlefield, games that used to be top-dogs, now just mediocre, microtransaction-filled trash. Halo just needs to stop being made.

Wow what a comment. (I mean that in a good way) First of all thank you for watching. I read your whole comment and yeah I agree Microsoft has messed up alot too. I personally believe that MCCs launch was about 99% Microsofts fault but 5, Infinite, and the support for these games...I don't know. At this point I do kinda wish Halo just stopped being a thing. It's disgusting what it's become but I don't think it has to be that way. Honestly I woukd be in favor of it being sold to the guys who make doom maybe but then again that's a pipe dream and a 'grass is always greener idea'. Who knows how it would actually turn out? It's just at this rate...well I'm beyond frustrated but I see where you're coming from. Thanks again for watching, hope you have a good night.

Late comment, but this video still rings true. MCC is slowly atrophying players every month. 9/10 games ends as a one sided, 50-13, spawnr*pe blowout. 4 man and 8 man stacks queing against solos and randoms because 343 decided to disable party matching. Manufactured losses, a constant 50% W/L created by an algorithm. Been playing halo mp since H3 launch night in 2007, not anymore. I actually cant be bothered, its so mentally stressful and depressing. The originals had it perfect, 2-4 had a perfect matchmaking system. 343 couldn't keep things as they were, no, they had to have things their way. To hell with 343, halo studios, whatever theyre called.

@Brammen007 MCC was getting like this when I made this video. Between the algorithm and being populated by 'first in Halo last in life' losers it was ruined. For the last year or so I've been hosting casual customs where we just boot sweats. Regular game modes, forge maps, whatever. Unfortunately I have some personal stuff coming up soon so I won't be able to host much for a month or two however this Saturday I'm trying to do one last gamenignt (last for a few months at least). Even after they added points for leveling up, it's still shit. Have the point system, I don't care, I'm a masochist and do enjoy on some level going for the challenges. I also like playing certain game types and you just don't get enough xp for it to be worth it outside of challenges. The sweats don't make it any better.

I honestly conclude that it's because in America only the money counts. Let me elaborate: there isn't one studio anymore who does shit out of passion like they used to in the very beginning of games. In order to make a good game the creative process can not be fueled only by the desire to sell or by the optimization of revenue , it'll just corrupt the entire thing and you end up with something just like infinite. I guarantee you 100% that if volunteers would have a shot at a halo game that doesn't have a profit incentive, it'll be a million times better than anything these capitalist corporations can develop
