Lyrics:
I’m only whatever you make me
and you make me
more and more a villain every day
But you don’t know
you reap, you sow
Whatever you give to me,
from yourself you take.
Well if you’re a hater,
then hate the creator
it’s in your image i’m made
One eye open and one eye closed
Cause i’ll hang myself if you give me rope
I lost all my faith and lost all hope
That everything means anything at all
one eye broken and one eye bruised
Cause I gave myself away for you
you liar! you don’t love me too
It’s easy for you, after all
My heart is massive
but it’s empty
a permanent part of me
that innocent artery
Is gasping for some real attention
Some undivided hypertension
I tell it “quiet down, you’re being loud”
But it beats harder
every time you come around.
But do you love the sound?
I sleep with
One eye open and one eye closed
Cause i’ll hang myself if you give me rope
I lost all my faith and lost all hope
That everything means anything at all
one eye broken and one eye bruised
Cause I gave myself away for you
you liar you don’t love me too
It’s easy for you after all
Losing you is easier than lying to myself that you love me
Losing you is easier than lying to myself that you love me
Losing you is easier than lying to myself that you love me
Losing you is easier than lying to myself
I sleep with
One eye open and one eye closed
Cause i’ll hang myself if you give me rope
I lost all my faith and lost all hope
That everything means anything at all
one eye broken and one eye bruised
Cause I gave myself away for you
you liar you don’t love me too
It’s easy for you after all

The entirety of the first verse is literally "You were red, and you liked me cuz I was blue. Then you touched me and suddenly I was a lilac sky, then you decided purple just wasn't for you" in another words and I think this is so beautiful. I love all the little callbacks to previous albums, being them intentional or not, just because it shows a progression of the person, the artist and the art. Best album yet, and I'm a whore for the 3 before this one.

'Losing you is easier than lying to myself that you love me' This. I loved someone for such a long time and losing them become the scariest thing in the world for me. It's strange because I would actually consider myself a really independent person and I avoided love for my whole life. Love, especially an unrequited one, is painful and one thing I learned from this experience was losing someone is infact easier than trying to convince myself that they love me.

This is by far the best songs of the album. The way She express all the frustration and anxiety in this song always hits me so hard. As a borderline person, I really feel all emotions in a way more intense and this song is perfect for It. Sadness, anger and happiness in one song. I would die for everyone I love in a very unhealthy way actually but seems like nobody feels the same love as me. I love this song, Thank you for comming to my Life, Halsey and thank you because this song makes me feel like someone really understands those feelings

I think that intro had some inspiration on "bela lugosi's dead" from Bauhaus, what a magnificent song the end result .
