@@dashaaaox1 it's a metaphor/warning to express how dangerous they are in the relationship from the very beginning and follows the theme of halsey seeing herself as something that can only do damage throughout the song. Trent and Atticus are God tier producers. Check out their newer project "Ghosts V" and "Ghosts VI", they even were on free download, idk if they still are. Atmospheric stuff, also yeah the 90's stuff, "the Downword Spiral" is a concept album depicting depression, suicide, drugs, sex, everything self destructive (pun intended by looking at the first track of the album), very heavy industrial metal vibes that I love. Pretty Hate Machine is also with industrial vibes but also with those iconic 80's pop vibes. Also Trent produced Marilyn Manson first two albums, Antichrist Superstar being my favourite. But for me their 3rd album Mechanical Animals is the best, industrial with glam rock vibes that feel like if David Bowie as his Ziggy Stardust persona did so much drugs that he went into a dark place and made metal. The album is very Bowie inspired in the best way possible.

I love the bubbly vocals with the darkly jubilant lyrics, the energetic percussion, gah all of it. Immediately one of my all time favorite songs. Also makes me think often of that thing that happens where two common extremes in men and women meet, i.e. women who are far more mentally developed and dealing with issues they have going on, vs men who are less far along and quite oblivious to these maelstroms of emotion, happily plodding along and completely unprepared for the gusting, switching winds. This reminds me in the best way of "Fast As You Can" by Fiona Apple, though this one musically speaks to me way more. Halsey, Fiona Apple, Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, all insanely talented.
