Why is it that a lot of these younger generation didn't know about his work? Nobody ever talked about him or his designs the way they did for De La Renta or Calvin Klein. Its sad but its cool that we get to know and recognize his job, cause truly his designs are classic and timeless

His name was tarnished, I grew up knowing the name from Penny's, it reminds me a lot of Pierre Cardin who became extremely wealthy through licensing but ruined an interest in his original creations.

I said this on another Channel but I've noticed that folks who come from Small Towns have the "Biggest Personalities'. Indiana had so many fascinating folks. Him, Bill Blass, John Mellencamp, and The Jackson Five. He was born in Iowa but moved to Indiana, then Chicago then New York.
