The hilarious thing is I'm gonna build something so similar. G35 350z and some gtr bits. Make an awd 350z with attessa using some after market gtr bits. And eventually just build a r34 4door gtr conversion. But the 350z shouldn't even be that expensive really. Especially given i can go straight to some upgrades that'll handle more power. Should also actually be lighter than a gtr. And given most of the added weight will be in the center and a little in the front. I should be able to play with the balancing and still keep the weight distribution. Might require some custom suspension bits in the front eventually to reduce weight but should all be stock bits to start. And given the upgraded gtr bits right from the get go it might not have to add that much weight. New g sensors and computers that reduce weight and uo scanning speed and performance plus let you map the center differential however you want. Drift grip and drag all in one car with just some tuning. Some dudes already done it and looks like you can at least get an auto conversion on 370z really easy with g37 bits. Manual little more involved. Given the engine bay shouldn't be impeded too much twin turbo and big single set ups should still fit easy as well as potentially a twin charger set up. Intake intercooler under the manifold super style. Throw a turbo style huge high flow intercooler in the front. Compound to get your total max boost but have better low end and top end. Balance the shit outa the engine to getnit revving nice. Wide body and extra wide rear rubber should help with weight distribution too. Also aero. Wing would help too. Leave the stock rear truck but throw a carbon front hood. Gtr drive train plus tuning with the attessa like system should let you tune it perfectly. Do some other basic 350 lightening that doesn't interfere with the other stuff and it's probably over all a decent bit lighter than the gtr doesn't need as much hp and probably costs now at least what a used cheaper gtr r35 would cost. 350z can be had so cheap and all you need is a build able motor and decent chassis base.

I had a chance seeing this back in Ocean Terminal in Hong Kong, such an amazing car, but I don't think it will achieve 800hp at australia dyno. Hong Kong and Japanese dyno measures in PS and aus dyno measures with KW at the wheel. Somewhere in the 400KW range with e85 will be more realistic

Alex Jai plenty of 500-600rwkw e85 350s going around. I think it’s definitely capable.

So wait, it's AWD, but has to run as RWD in time attack? So they pulled the front driveshafts. Wouldn't you pull the front diff aswell to lower the weight? But then I guess you take away all the JUN magic.
@haltech6 жыл бұрын
That'd be a pretty big job, and they may want to run it in AWD config again in the future, so I guess taking the driveshafts out is quicker and less permanent.
@ravika12066 жыл бұрын
The issue with just removing the front differential on any V6/V8 AWD Nissan is that you would have a big hole in the side of the oil pan, the differential bolts to the side of the oil pan and runs an intermediary shaft through the pan and out the other side. And not to mention you would still have the transfer case in the car and you would need to seal of up the hole that the now missing driveshaft created.
@bmxriderforlife12342 жыл бұрын
If the car is done the way I think it is and the way I'm gonna do my awd 350z you use some aftermarket gtr stuff that let's you essentially just disconnect the center transfer case at will. R32s r33s and r34s can do it but sometimes you need to install a button or take a fuse out. Some of them you just have to enter certain commands via the different inputs. It's how dudes in the early gtr videos would do awd launches and drift plus circuit all in the same car in the same videos without any building. The upgraded controllers and g sensors work faster and also allow you to map them however you want. Meaning you can also set static torque splits versus the gtr as the wheels slip style. Still gotta do some research into the more complex bits. But hoping I can tune it with the traction control where I can adjust it to different levels and have them work together or turn off individually. Plus the ability to set static maps. That said I'm also building a full out computer into the vehicle. Infotainment plus tuning on the fly. But if he used the aftermarket controllers or has the right gtr bits in the conversion and followed its wiring. It's pretty simple he doesn't even have to actually drop the shafts. Though would save weight. Realistically the conversion makes alot more sense if you daily your track car as well. You can drift and grip race the same car and for grip that includes drag racing or circuit racing. It can be done with g35 bits some gtr bits that you can source aftermarket for less than oem and a few oem gtr bits. Hardest part is the transfer case but someone makes a billet aftermarket one now with improvements that should work. Most of the added weight would also be centered in the car or at least between the axles. Only draw back being some added front weight as well. But with custom suspension bits and a bit of extra work and some spending you could probably negate that as well. But over the shelf oem g35 bits get the front set up cheaply. Some aussie dude did alot of work on it. Biggest bit is you need to cut some of the floor pan. Realistically a body shop that also does engine and tranny stuff could do it in a week.
