Pur jars are great! If you live in areas where the store Big Lots is located they have them SO CHEAP! Currently a case (dozen) of regular or wide-mouth pints are $8.99 and a case of regular or wide-mouth quarts is only $12.99. That's less than anywhere I know at the moment. They also have boxes or a dozen lids for $2.99 (regular or wide-mouth). Stock up if you've got the space!

Hi Jeni! Yum, one of my favorite canned soups. Delicious on a rainy or cold day. I like thyme and I chop up real fine some spinach or sometimes a mixed green leafy vegetable, it’s good for you and adds another color to the jar. Sometimes I use green onion stalks for the green, I like onion with my pot of beans or certain soups. Have a blessed night!!

I’m wondering if you can use ham stock instead of water. When I cook big bone in hams I always add quite a bit of water so when I’m done and it’s cooled off I put it in the fridge. Then once it’s cold I take all the fat grease top off and discard and I have a jellyish liquid left and I freeze it till I’m ready to use it.
