I liked hearing about your birth family. It must have been so fun having all those siblings. I grew up alone, with two sisters eighteen and twenty one years older. Of course they're gone now with me being 74 years old. The hamburger steak looked so good, I loved this video. You always do a great job cooking and talking to us!

You’re such a neat and tidy cook. I am too. I even wash my dirty dishes as I go along. This meal is a comfort meal. It’s right up there with biscuits and gravy 😋. I even do the pots if I can while my husband puts his plate together .. it’s great doing this because you have less cleanup when you’re done eating .. need to make this soon .. the weather is cooling (I live in NJ) .. so it’s time for meat, potatoes & lots of gravy❣️

LOVE your videos! One thing I now do with my HB steaks.. I lite up my charcoal grill, Keeping the coals close to the meat. Get a good sear on each side.. ONLY cooking them HALF WAY. Just long enough to get the grill taste. THEN I put them in the skillet on the stove to finish cooking,, then the onions, then the gravy (flour, beef stock, lipton onion, maybe a brown gravy pack)

My Mama was from Michigan and we lived in Kansas and she made potato patties for us!! So I think they are a dish from everywhere not just southern. I like to put onions in them too!! The meal looked delicious!! Thanks Karen!!

I love this meal...one of my go to favs. Love your autumn decorations btw. Looks so nice. I always try and find the sweet onions or vidalias in season....love those. Thank You KAREN For Bring Loving Memories back to me. As We Would all sit down at the Dinner Table in “Our Seats”. We Would say a Prayer😊 of Thanks And share 23:40 our day with each other. Before we asked to be excused Dad would ask my Younger Brother and Myself to Tell him “Whats The Good News on The Street”. We Lived in The Country, the only street we knew was an Dirt Road. My Brother and I both knew what Dad wanted to hear from each of us. He expected to hear us tell him how we had helped someone, who did we say Thank You To, did we Greet anyone with a Smile. There was No Complains at The Diner Table. Dad (grandpa) Would Talk to our Sons just like he had done to me growing up 🥰. If We Did Something Wrong he never got Mad instead he would Sternly Look At Us and Say “ Your Halo Is Crooked, Better Straighten it Up” which would tell us to Start Making BetterChoices … Your Hamburger Steak has made me a little “Melancholy” Memories …

My mother always made brown gravy with hamburger steaks and mashed potatoes. I do it alot now. So good. Sometimes I use the fryings and grease from the hamburger to make homemade gravy.

That looks so yummy. It reminded me of dinners my mother would make when I was still at home. She cooked in an electric skillet too and I have so many good memories of cooking in it as well. Sitting down with your family to a home cooked meal doesn’t happen much these days, what ashame. It was the end of our day. A time for everyone to catch up. I feel sorry for kids that don’t have that. BTW, you both have the nicest personalities. They come through in your videos. Enjoy your evening…

Your grandmother sounds like mine. After my mom died when I was 10 and my sister was 7 we liked with my grandmother and aunt. She could take 1/2 a chicken to feed 4 of us plus potatoes and vegetables. She knew how to stretch food.

I'm really enjoying your channel! The time spent with you two feels like being with good friends. We use to sit on the porch in the evenings (this would have been in the mid to late 60s and early 70s) our neighbors would come over and visit. In Friday nights there was always a fish fry and we had homemade ice cream, yes! We all took turns cranking! Good Times. Life was simple. I would love to be sitting on the porch right now

I do use it alot. I have cabinets and counter tops in my garage off my kitchen. I keep a lot of my equipment there. It keeps from crowding my kitchen space. I literally walk out the door and get whatever I need. ❤️❤️
