@@hamradioqrp-k0klb I remember pilot knob. When I helped on the farm we stuck to tractor work most days in the summer so we didn’t always have time to go places. Sure enjoyed my time in the 70’s there. I will try to activate there next time through. I have a mobile setup in my truck which I lug my Kenwood desk radio along.

Hey Reed... You are correct.. I found myself pedaling faster at the beginning during a QSO, but now its a natural rhythm and I really don't think about it.. but, the diode is there as a good safety backup.. Thanks for watching.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb

Does that motor put out pure DC or is there some ripple to it? I damaged a battery charger converting DC from a motor like that into DC for a battery, same type of treadmill motor on a bike.

I have not analyzed it to see if it's pure or not.. The voltage does fluctuate a little bit. Guess I'll have to google it to find out what it looks like and make that determination.. Thanks for the heads up and for watching... 73, Kevin ~ k0klb
