I bought this exact model probably two years ago. LOVED it so much I bought one for each of my kids. No more broken glass pots. Makes great coffee. To me, cleaning is simple and quick. There is a learning curve, but my family loves it.

The other thing is that, your coffe is not exposed to elements! If you work in a dusty area this is perfect, or in the outside you can be sure that no insects will go in!

I would never buy another coffee maker than this one. Once you actually know how to make it, its simple to operate. Add to this, you don't have to worry about breaking a carafe. It doesn't take as much effort as you make it seem to.

That's the core problem -- figuring out just how to use it!!!??? Utter madness. Here I am at a vacation condo with one of these infernal machines -- and no instructions. I go to the H/B web site, find the exact model, go to the supposed complete instructions via .pdf..... and even there, no words, just a few vague images!!! Glad you figured it out. But I'll never forgive or forget h/b for such madness.

Programming it is no more difficult than programming any other old-school pre-internet timer (VCR's, microwaves, range clocks, etc). Also, a pack of coffee filters is like a couple of dollars and lasts at least a couple of months and usually results in fresher - tasting coffee than permanent filters. And the water tank / reservoir has a handle, so it's actually easier to hold it under the water source than filling a glass carafe and then pouring it into the maker. I really don't get the complaints about it.

have the newer version and the k cup area is over flowing bc the spout ( where the coffee runs out and into the cup ) is clogged w: grounds! It happened just days after I bought it. I have had it for less than 2 weeks and it has happened three times. I can’t get them to respond to an email. They have no customer service phone support. This is unreal!

You can buy a reusable mesh basket instead of paper, thats up to you. I find paper the best. I bought this machine to replace a black and decker and it is far superior as it keeps your coffee fresher, longer. Also the black and decker and others dont evenly water the grinds, this machine does a great job of it. The bold and 1-4 cups feature are good too. Other than these features its pretty much the same as any basket filter coffee maker, it just has a built in carafe.

It was a gift and did not have instructions, I Don't know if this was an old model but I have to hold the cup which my cup doesn't fit and have to hold it until the cup is full. since this did not have instructions on how to use it, I don't know how to program it. I guess I will give it away.

Okay...I found the perfect one for me. It is the Cuisinat 12-Cup On Demand Programmable. Not only does it NOT leak like the two HP Brewstations I had, but it has a gauge on the front to show the amount of coffee left and a light that comes on when you get your coffee. It also comes with a charocoal filter to save on my filtered water. It is pricey, $139.00 but worth it for me for great hot coffee~

THANK YOU for this tutorial! We're on vacation and attempting to use a similar model, and for the life of me, couldn't figure out which button to press to get the coffee out. Lol! So found your video, and one of the first things you said, "it has this button right here" [yes! I'm looking for a button!] "And you press right here [pointing!]..." Yay! Eureka! I am on my 3rd HB brew station and I will never buy anything else. I just purchased this one for my daughter. My son-in-law loves them because it keeps the coffee hotter (vs a pot) and fresher tasting coffee.

This is the second one I've owned. I love it to death. IMHO it's easy to make the coffee, easy to clean, coffee stays hot, filters are not a big deal to me, (you can always buy a stainless mesh one), no carafe means one less thing to wash and have in the sink EVERY DAY, it's easy to change the strength by using more or less coffee, ...or using the "bold" button, the many holes at the top of the water dispenser pours over the coffee evenly and really makes the best coffee every time. K-cups leave me no opportunity to use more or less coffee and the relentless plastic waste is not for me. Not having a carafe is awesome. Just one mans opinion. I did enjoy your video. Thanks for that.

I made the mistake of pouring the water in the top part. It kept saying add water and I was like What the heck? I added the water, lol. Thanks for the info. To set the time.. Start time, then push hours and minutes til you get to the time of day. To set brew time.. Hold start time button while pushing hours/minutes. Don’t forget to make sure it says am (or pm). And don’t forget to add water and coffee before setting. Haha

I believe he was referring to having to buy filters, or the more expensive reusable filters. My coffee maker at home has a reusable basket/filter with a screen. No need to buy filters at all.

Did you figure out why? You need to clean the domed screen inside the coffee tank. Just use a toothbrush or small brush to remove the coffee grounds that are blocking the coffee from running out freely. I know cause it happened to me.

Was thinking about buying this and your review made me decide to NOT buy it, lol. Thanks for your honest opinion about using it. I know my guy will definitely not like having to do so much for his morning coffee. When he gets up, he's still half asleep, so pouring in water and the coffee in the permanent filter to brew it is about the extent of what he can manage in the morning. Expecting him to do all of this extra stuff will be too much.

No matter what coffee maker you buy always use white distilled vinegar to clean your coffee maker once per month. If you use a brew barista machine to make coffee one cup at a time you will get the flavor of the coffee beans !!! I see the brown foam on top. When I use a regular coffee maker you get zero foam. Coffee taste better when you grind your beans make one cup at a time. You will never use a coffee pot again.

I'm curious to know if people back in the day had to take horse driving lessons... do you know? I agree that we need change to progress, and I do see how this coffee machine could be beneficial if a lot of people are drinking from it. My experience is I have my coffee pot and I only brew one cup. No one else in the house drinks coffee, so something like this would be overkill.

Thanks for this video. I had the same scenario while on vacation. Luckily when I went on KZbin I saw your video pretty quickly. I actually like that I can brew alot and keep warm and just dispense as needed. However, I don't like that my hot coffee is sitting in plastic, leaching chemicals into it. I prefer to have it in glass. For that reason, I wouldn't buy this.

This is such a liberating coffee machine. I can’t even count the number of carafe’s that I or my kids have broken over the years (never the wife). Also, the machine comes with a permanent filter. The owner probably doesnt have one. Edit: You can also brew cold coffee by putting ice cubes in the water tray.
