@Ronnie-lz8yl5 жыл бұрын
@Isabella Storer Yeah and not only that Philip had a duel ,because of Alexander. Because a man named George Eacker was making a mockery of Hamilton ,and Philip didn't stand for that. Also fun fact Philip and Alexander used the same gun and they had a duel at the same place. Btw this had a little domino affect on the family ,because not only did he step down from the government his eldest daughter ended up going crazy because of her brother's death.

Also Hamilton doesn’t need anyone’s help distorting his own reputation, he can do that all by himself! That for me puts Hamilton out of the suspect list.

Hamilton did NOT kill this dude. My reason? Because one, he had stepped down from the government to be with his family. His eldest son, Philip, had recently died, and he wanted to be there for his family more than the government. Hamilton also used his OWN funds. He had proof of every purchase as well, as he always held receipts close to him. Jefferson RAPED Sally Hemmings, actually. BUT! I do understand that he is drunk, so he may have got things mixed up and/or did not know. It's understandable. (I got this informations from my AP GOV textbooks, not the Hamilton musical. @@croaker517 Now that is one interesting approach.
@KazumiKiguma5 жыл бұрын
@@croaker517 As interesting as that is, it still brings to question why he would be paying Reynolds such an exorbitant amount. Also, if that were true, that makes the fate of Hamilton's son even sadder, considering he challenged Eacker to defend his dad's honor. In turn, that would mean Hamilton likely felt even more guilty over the loss of his son, assuming that theory is true.
@cameronhodgetts9204 жыл бұрын
Let's look at this logically. Wouldn't be Hamilton, because by that point in his life he was living in Jersey and being majorly majorly depressed. I doubt it was Adams, because his ego was far to massive to resort to murder, and also because he was retired from public affairs and working on his farm by that point. As for Jefferson, he had a reputation for being stone-faced against criticism, so I doubt he would resort to murder over some tabloid gossip. Plus he was still busy doing founding father stuff. So, if Calendar really was murdered, then who did it? Well, here's my theory. Someone we've all overlooked. A man disgraced by losing the election to Jefferson. Outraged by the help Cslendar gave in securing that victory. An erratic man we already know to be capable of murder, and on the run trying to overthrow the establishment. The prodigy of Princeton college. The damn fool that shot Hamilton. Aaron Burr.

I really think it was Jefferson. Way before I came across this video I was reading about James Callender and his involvement in the lives of the Founding Fathers. Apparently Callender was supposed to be in court the night he died, and Hamilton was the top defense attorney, so that automatically rules him out (Hamilton was planning on exposing Jefferson in that case - it’s safe to assume that he didn’t commit the murder bc he needed Callender alive in order for his plan to work). Adams is basically irrelevant here; he wasn’t really involved with Callender aside from that paper about him being a monarchist. But Jefferson and Callender go *way* back - Jefferson often hired him to publish dirt on his enemies (as we’ve seen with Adams and Hamilton). But when Callender turned on Jefferson, it doesn’t seem like a coincidence that he died *the night he was supposed to reveal evidence to the court that Jefferson was not fit to be president.* So either Jefferson did it, or one of his Republican minions did.
