Screw down crown is not a good idea for the manual wind watch. Imagine unscrewing and screwing down the crown every time you want to wind the watch - too much wear for the crown.

sladkru fair point that I didn’t really think about. The 80 hour power reserve would cut down on that wear a bit but hey can’t have everything!

sladkru sorry I didn’t see this sooner! KZbin is funny sometimes. I really appreciate it. I found it surprising that so many talked so highly of that baltic model but when I got it in, it just didn’t live up to it.

Nice, thorough review as always. I had the watch and really wanted to enjoy it but the way the case sloped downward on the sides dug into my (6.75”) wrist.

triniboy05 unfortunate! Didn’t think it would dig into the wrist. My experience made it seem very ergonomic. Lots of other good watches out there thankfully.

Did you have it on a two piece strap or a NATO? I think I remember someone saying that the watch practically lives on NATO because on a two piece strap the watch case would dig into their wrists.

The watch only comes on a nato so i assume when he tried it on it was on a nato. I found it comfortable on both natos and regular straps so maybe for some wrists it’s just not the best fit.

@@theknightswatch True. I recently picked up this model and it wears comfortably on my somewhat flat 6.5" wrist. I've only used it on the stock strap so far though and haven't tried it on any two piece straps. Cheers!

This watch was made for the British military during the early 1970's Army, Navy and the RAF. Same size as the originals only difference is the absence of the white arrow above the 6.

Enjoying, you have a good eye for scale and style. Like how you get close up shots and measurements early on. Only prob with $600 pieces, is that they add up after awhile when accumulated funds could go for say a Rolex 16013. What State are you located in, if you do not mind. Best, JP (LA)

JP Davis thanks! I agree. Although spending over that 1000 dollar mark is tough for some people. I had a vintage rolex for a while and loved it and the only other one I’m interested in owning is the rhodium yachtmaster so 600 is not too much towards that haha. Based out of Los Angeles myself.

Thank you. In my opinion there is no reason it couldn’t be. Could very easily replace it if something major damaged the crystal and in regular daily wear as long as you aren’t using it on construction sites and doing crazy stuff like that with it you’ll be fine.

Nice review! Thanks! The biggest con is the size. Time and time again, watch manufacturers miss on the size. Hamilton’s best looking mechanical and they couldn’t cap it off by matching the size of the Khaki Mechanical. If they could have just made this watch in a 37mm, it would have been a keeper.

Mine was at about -1.5 seconds a day. Can always have a watchmaker regulate yours.

Idk how good a screw down crown would be for a manual wound watch. As an owner of this watch, I think it would be a bit annoying to unscrew, wind, and screw in. If it wasn’t a 100m water resist watch then the makers wouldn’t put it in. But indeed it is 100M. No watch will ever be perfect. It’s a great watch. Not everyone’s cup of tea.

Those watches did not undergo extra development to have the thicker gaskets and case design internally to allow 100M water resistant, this and others have hence why they also cost a bit more. Again, stay in your lane as clearly you have zero idea what water resistance is. Either that or you're just trolling so not worth giving any further attention to here.

May be it is you how does not know about water intrusion and you believe any marketing message. By the way, the cost of a screw crown is close to nothing.
