Don't usually like Power Metal. I'm more a Thrash and Classic British Metal guy, but this band sounds pretty cool. Kind of like the anthemic type of hard guitar tunes with a melodic vocal I'd use if I were ever to go into battle or a huge sport event head first. Hard metal fans may think I'm crazy for this but I prefer this to Death/Doom/Black/Sludge Metal. Lead singer has a nice voice that totally rocks over screaming or growls. I think I'll add HammerFall to my music library! :)

Lon Tanner yeah, actually had to get used to HammerFall, but after some time, it really sounded great. It's really unique in my eyes, something different from the whole other stuff.

Jesper also has slightly more of the writing credits on Glory to the Brave, and also shares the bulk of writing credits on Legacy of Kings. What kind of "Metal Crusader" are you? This is basic information anyone has access to.

I can promise you, this is the best quality. I was there. mixing was awfull. Seen them twice on wacken, terrible sound. Also saw them live twice in different (indoor) places, sound there was great! So guess something went wrong at wacken (twice)

I disappointed of song The Dragon Lies Bleeding. It should be more energetic. It's better not to sing this masterpiece than this concert version. I sang this song by myself and know how it is hard to reach high notes and pick them up together in one line. Killing the dragon would be easier ;)

New drummer is butchering all Glory to the Brave songs by trying to "add" too much to them, like ride accents and shit. Patrick Rafling had this DOWN, don't fuck with it. I'm so happy to see Anders Johansson gone, he wasn't a good fit for the band. Really happy to see Jesper Stromblad on stage with them for The Dragon Lies Bleeding. Wish he and Oscar would go back to working together, their collaboration is the genius behind Legacy of Kings and Glory to the Brave IMO. Jesper was so productive back then, best In Flames records came out around the same time (Clayman, Colony), as well as the first Sinergy record, all great metal masterpieces IMHO. Jesper, get back to making great music man, we miss you and we love you!

They play awesome music but they are just not a great liveband they don't get the crowd to fucking rock I didn't saw a singl mosh pit only a few stage divers. Compare this to for example slipknot where the crowd just escalates

+philipp hermes well you just cant compare those two bands and it is not that common for a powermetal band to inspire mosh pits but i still get your point and you are right - they are better on cd than live (and that is me saying this despite hf being one of my most beloved metal bands^^)

+philipp hermes traditional Metal heads don't do mosh and don't dive, rookie. That is for young bum, fan of core, death and stuff alike, where you do not need to listed to tunes, just do what you should at the gym when not drunk. ;-) As a matter of fact they have awesome and unanimous horns-up and head banging when needed, as it should.

+philipp hermes They were awesome when I saw them in a small venue. Can't compare to a thrash or other style band though for sure as far as mosh pits go. If that is what you base a crowd "being into it" on then they fail, otherwise, I am certain the crowd is totally "into" it :D

Have been there. Farther in the back there were some small moshs. But in generall were moshpits forbidden in Wacken , don't know if always but in 2014 definately.

The studio versions are fun to have in clubs, but they're so incredibly weak live it's almost insulting. You can actually feel the snare drum begging to be finally hit again. Of course, the crappy Wacken sound is unfair, but then again, the only way to enjoy Hammerfall live is amongst 50,000 others to compensate for their delivery.
