One of the BEST, diy videos I've seen. 98% of all people will NEVER use a professional grade machine nor pay a professional to do this. It worked fine; well done!

@detailit wow, thank you so much for the kind words. That is exactly what I was trying to achieve here. What us average people have access to and a less expensive option. I really appreciate you watching. 👊
@detailitАй бұрын
@VictorVlogsPDX for sure, man. When diy detail released their stuff, they pumped stuff, chemicals & tools for "DO it Yourself" people... the average Joe or Jane. Then they went off track, in my opinion, and became like every other brand out there. Anyway, your video was spot on!

I love how people get all pissy about how you use YOUR vehicle. LOL Excellent tutorial BTW.

@MadMikeee72 it was entertaining watching people freak out. 😁 Appreciate the kind words. Thanks for watching!

And this is exactly why i never go to car washes with brushes. Touchless is the only way to go. Good luck getting all them scratches out.
@VictorVlogsPDX2 ай бұрын
@michaelyost6219 yeah, typically I try not too because, regardless of how "soft" they say their brushes are, I know dirt and other debris gets trapped in them and will then cause swirls and scratches. I was pleased with the results. Yes, some are still visible up close, but it's good enough for now. Thanks for watching!
@flemmingjensen3202Ай бұрын
@michaelyost6219 To be fair, those scratches didn’t come from the car wash. Those would be much more uniform and nowhere near as deep.

same carwash I go to in oregon.

@@NovaBob62 I love it. Even when it's busy they get a lot of cars through and it does a pretty good job. Just wish they hadn't gotten rid of the buy 3 get 1 free deal though.

@@VictorVlogsPDX fosure I always bought those stickers. now they have the app. I don't use as of yet. 40.00 per month just for 1 car.
@VictorVlogsPDXАй бұрын
@NovaBob62 yeah, I don't wash my car often enough to justify that. Now if it was $40 for all cars in a household, I'd be all over it.

I like your pragmatic approach and definitely polishing off the scratches does work. However, you are cutting each time you do it from the clear coat. I think it will be more wise, since you will use that vehicle as intended many more times, to get a side PPF. Yes, it's expansive, but in your case, I think it will help you maintain your car and not need to do a repaint in just a few years. I enjoyed your video and your style of storytelling. Keep it up!
@VictorVlogsPDX2 ай бұрын
@@ChrisCryptoCoffee thank you for the compliment. I know this method only has so many times before the clear coat is gone. Some kind of wrap is definitely in the future. Thank you for watching!
@Vetteman372Ай бұрын
Maybe you should get the truck wrapped. with that expel stuff. that'll give you a little leeway in the scratches. OK. but you're right. You didn't buy it to sit in the garage. I agree with you. 100%.
@VictorVlogsPDXАй бұрын
@@Vetteman372 the wrap is definitely in the cards and high on the list for future upgrades for sure!

You need a better dual action orbital polisher machine. Griots garage makes G9 and is great for scratches with proper pads.

I take my portable dewalt 20volt hedger with me and clear a path on the trail if my truck will get heavily scratched. I have a near mint 2006 GMC Yukon in dark spiral grey - almost black and one day those manzanitas scratched it as bad as yours. I took it to my friend at the body shop and for a case of beer he had it looking like new in twenty minutes with his buffing magic.
@VictorVlogsPDX2 ай бұрын
@jewllake ya know, I thought about it afterwards. We have a battery hedger too. It's definitely on the table next time we venture out. And a case of beer? Where is this friend and what kind of beer? 😅 Thanks so much for watching, really appreciate it.

Try using using a Claybar kit.
@VictorVlogsPDX2 ай бұрын
@Trials-and-Tribulations I've done those before. This time I just wanted to get it "good enough" while I contemplate a long term solution, whether that's a wrap or Line-X coating, paint repair, etc. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching. Much appreciated!

If you don’t want a pavement princess…I would suggest doing the whole vehicle with a LineX type product. It resist scratches and you don’t have to buff paint anymore!

@StephanBrainard this is on my list as well as a wrap. I see the pros and cons of both. It basically comes down to me just making up my mind. 😅 Thanks so much for watching!
