This video perfectly explains every wave of emotion I'm currently feeling (and have been feeling) since my most recent breakup with someone I love. A long stretch of sadness, disbelief, confusion, denial, along with a number of different pains moving throughout my body and mind like a tornado. It completely shattered my heart, and I'm slowly, slowly rebuilding myself. Hammock's albums are medicine to my unbelievably broken heart.

This reminds me so much of myself. I love solitude, and every emotion associated with it. It's beautiful and ethereal, and it simply cannot be replicated with the presence of another person. I prefer to live with fantasies and dreams; if what I want deep down has to be just out of my reach to feel the way I do about them, then let me never have them.
@southport979 жыл бұрын
My personal interpretation of the video: I believe her boyfriend or girlfriend broke up with her or was murdered.She returns to the motel room where they once stayed to reminisce and revisit a moment of happiness they once shared together that night. This is her way of confronting her stuck in denial stage of grief. She must do this in order to regain her own inner peace and sanity A catharsis of sorts by reenacting those events from long ago. The second part of the video, running about on the beach and the backseat ride from a stranger - presumably from hitchhiking - was the finality aspect of her closure and introspection. You can see the release and contentment on her face when she starts putting her hands out the window that she's finally made peace with everything and found a way to move on. This video really does turn your soul inside out. It's dark, weird.. freaky genius and eerily beautiful.

Yes, i too believe that the video depicts loss and the pain that goes with moving on. I was ditched by the woman i loved some years ago, we'd listen to Hammock a lot. This song in particular seems to be part of my scar tissue. There's some hard irony there but i can't put it in to words. Weird.

I thought the same thing; it looks like after the hand swipes the mist away from the mirror that the door behind her to the left of the shot leading to an unseen room is has flickering orange light behind it? Maybe a fire? I also think it could depict a near-death experience? It’s so mesmerising.

I’m not the emotional type and empathy doesn’t really come naturally to me but this piece of music mixed with this video touch a part of me that I can’t access consciously. Everything this girl is struggling to let go of, all the pain she is feeling is so vivid in my imagination. The ending is just so blissful and freeing, it’s like she is flying after being grounded for so long.

I laid in bed listening to this album. My girlfriend came in and something was amiss. We both sat silent at the end of my bed. I knew it was over. We held each other and cried. I told her if I held her tight enough I wouldn't let go. I tried as hard as I could to remember everything about her but I knew it wasn't possible. She stood up for a moment, said she loved me more than I'll ever know, and she'll miss me. There was a pause. "Then don't let me go." And she was gone. Powerful music.

There's no word to describe the feelings this master piece evokes. I look at it as a holy track and play it only when I'm ready to give it the respect and attention it deserves. In a way it's therapeutical. As I close my eyes and listen, It truly helps me go to the core of my emotions and explore the depths of my subconscious mind. Sometimes it evokes negative and stressful emotions, but I persist to continue and go deeper. Then some how I reach the roots of these emotions and the moment I open my eyes everything gets resolved and I feel very calm and refreshed
