@harolynallison68893 жыл бұрын
@@Lonewolfwildcamping other colors is a possibility but shopping for the proper tent that offers speed, safety and compatible with the rest of the equipment, is the traits to look for. Color doesn't mean a whole lot. It matters little about Color.the things to look for are ease in set up. Compatibility as to terrain and safety features. Safe camping is dictated by this. I opt. To make purchases along the lines outweighs the color. A choice in color is nice but the least important of what is necessary and needed to camp out. I purchase my equipment on those rules and on what you have taught and the camping experience is based on the features of each and every item I buy. My camping experience has been enhanced by learning proper skills, ease of set up and knowledge of the terrain I choose.

Very nice. I like that you covered the concerns which immediately popped into my head. How tall are you? I'm 6' 2" and though I don't mind bending over a bit, too much I would prefer more material to get the ridge a bit taller. I'd like to suggest a loop or D-ring inside on the non-stove side. Then you could swing the hammock to that side and strap it secure to give yourself much more room in the middle until it's time to get inside the hammock.

I have found that sil-nylon sheds snow and ice nicely but not so much with canvas. The other concern is the 14 ft minimum tree span. A typical tarp has an 11 foot ridgeline. I suspect you will need to hang the hammock higher on the tree in order to account for the greater span/distance required by the tarp.

So Ive since purchased this unit as well as the pomoly T1, I finally just broke the stove in today and setup the shelter, all is well thus far. Just a few questions: 1) are the main straps sewn into the main ridge line of the tarp apt to hold the weight of a hammock? I have mine setup without a ridgeline using the exterior tie offs that also have on integrally sewn into that faces the interior, I do have my hammock hung there but was just wondering if this may stretch the seams or anything. 2) is there a material that you would recommend as far as filling the small diameter around the stove jack to prevent water intrusion? Very pleased with this product and will soon test it in the rain, I did end up putting some plastic cothes line clip on the door areas to seal them up and try to retain the most heat possible. I was thinking that maybe a velcro or magnetic system would do justice here to seal things up a bit tighter, what are your thoughts on getting the doors as closed as possible?

I always hammock hike/camp and this is by far the best design hammock shelter there is !! We have alot in common i also really enjoy bushcrafting but like incorporating high teck modern conveniences too ! Either way i am getting this shelter. But is there anyway you could make a video with this shelter with 2 hammocks in it ? My son will be 4 this summer so im going to start taking him with me. I have a idea on how to make it work and it will depend greatly on tree configuration. Also im in southern iowa northern Missouri area . So dont freek out thinking im going to take a toddler in cold camping . 50° f will be the coldest i take him till he gets older. Also ive been wanting to do hot tent hammock camping for a while but never came up with a real good configuration. You have solved that for me with this shelter !! Thank you very much. I know there are lots of factors to consider, but is there a particular pomoly stove you would recommend to go with the hammock tarp? I would be using it mostly during the fall and early winter in Wyoming for solo. Fall hunting trips could be in it for a week or more.. Would be willing to pack a few more pounds for easier wood processing and loading stove less often. The grilling and side rack options are nice. Not sure if only the T1 has those? Heck, you could design an oversized double decker hammock frame that could hold like 800lbs, with spots to hang your gear on the ends. I'm telling ya, the deluxe frame setup would sell like crazy. If I'm hunting I'd rather have a solid base setup if I need it without, having to waste time trying to bushcraft when I want to be hunting. I bushcraft when I wanna bushcraft, I hunt when I want good meat for the winter.

I know you had a falling out with Onetigris, but how do you like this one vs the Onetigris objectively? My biggest struggle is I like the zippers on the Onetigris as well as the multiple stove jacks, but I like that the Pomoly is a canvas blend. I know that makes it heavier, but in theory its more durable and safer with the stove. What do you think?
@Lonewolfwildcamping3 жыл бұрын
I designed both tents . This canvas version with pomoly is far better than the other one with onecopycat. You will notice the differences and details in the design change between the two. And yes the canvas is much stronger and won't melt from embers making it safer

That is one very nice Hammock House. I can see where folks in cold climates would really enjoy it. Unfortunately or fortunately ( However you look at it ) my hammock camping is just reversed , ventilation and lots of it is desired. The trick for me is staying cool , heat is not a problem except for trying to avoid it. Florida's winter is one week or two at the most and then a light quilt is all you need. Summer fills in the rest of the months. Apparently location is a deciding factor.

I am very interested in purchasing this tent. I was just wonder if the canvas is treated with something and would require routine maintenance to keep it waterproof. Thanks and great videos.

Yes the canvas is treated from factory and you can re apply with Nik wax spray from Amazon when needed. I find i spray mine every 6 months
