So fun fact: the first Hamtaro game isn't really a pet simulator game. It's actually a daily fortune teller game. That's why Hamtaro asks for things like your birthday and blood type. Hamtaro walking around his cage and eating is just something for you to look at while the game's internal clock ticks down to the next time you can get your fortune told. Another fun fact: the lead designer for that game was SO inspired by it that he created the Tomodachi Life series. No this is not a joke.

OMG same! I actually ended up getting stuck in the Manor more than once. I stumbled upon the solution to the place in the Manor I had gotten stuck at, but then I had to replay the game from the start not long after (due to save data getting deleted by a family friend's kid), during which I got stuck at the same part for years without being able to remember how I solved it... I played that game SO much, and always ended up going back to it if I didn't know what to play on GBA. I have so many fond memories of everything in that game except for the last Hula Dance contest; that last routine was so ridiculously specific and I only beat it years later because I found the solution on the internet somewhere lol

I looked up a quick review and considering the price being an indicator of popularity perhaps, I took a gamble. I have to say, I'm loving this game (heartbreak) so much. It's super cute and so wholesome. I've been enjoying it so much so I went online and bought ham-ham unite, rainbow rescue, and ham-ham challenge. Thanks for doing this, the first three games (minus the fortune telling one) are my favs. I find myself replaying them out of nostalgia sometimes, it’s hard to believe Hamtaro games were as great as they were before ultimately succumbing to shovelware tier. Hamtaro will always be a part of my fav childhood memories, the show and games cemented that.

I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve replayed Hamtaro Ham-Ham Heartbreak. Even as an adult it still stands up as a well made game with a lot of charm. I got into the series from my friends in elementary school and remember us secretly huddling around a GBC during recess to play the earlier games in the series. When that Nintendo Summer 2003 guide came out with Rainbow Rescue I was so excited, sad we never got it in NA but at least I can play it now I’ve come across a lot of “rip-off” hamster adventure games here in Japan that seem interesting and am looking forward to going through those too

@@IgorsDen Oh wow!! I’m so happy to hear that, wasn’t expecting anyone to have seen and then remembered them haha. I’ll probably end up doing the rest of the game as one extra long video someday.

Hantaro is one of my favorite things from childhood, and I’ve heard ham-ham heartbreak in particular is a VERY good game many people love!

As a kid I was a big fan of the anime, and saw one of these games in the local toy shop. So naturally I begged my mom to get it. When we got home she though it was "too childish" for me and went back to trade it in for a different game. She got me the GBA version of DKC, which, I guess isn't a bad trade. But man I feel ilke I've been missing out on this experience.

I love that you made a video on these games since I love Hamtaro. I used to play all these games all the time as a kid and seeing people talk about them in 2022 is amazing.

I would be down for Nintendo to do more licensed games. Imagine Nintendo making a My Hero Academia game, or at the very least HAL Laboratory since they’re third party and Bandai Namco has the license for My Hero Academia. Also Popeye should be in the next Smash Bros.

Make it Sonic Adventure style with individual campaigns for each of the 1A students and the main villains or just six for Izuku, Bakugo, Ochako, Tenya, Todoroki, and Himiko as the villain rep ala Gamma with UA, Musutafa City, and All For One’s Hideout as the three explorable HUB worlds.

Nintendo should do licensed games but not those. And Goku needs to be in SSB before Popeye.
@misterzygarde64312 жыл бұрын
@@zigslotheon >MHA Game in the style of SA1 That's just genius. What with being able to play as the main trio of Izuku, Bakugou, and Todoroki along with Ochako and Tenya, Izuku's first friends at U.A. along with Himiko.

@Master Shifu Like Joker from P5? Persona is part of the SMT series which is adapted from a book, so the series' origins are non-gaming.
@Vulpas2 жыл бұрын
@Master Shifu I'm telling you Sakurai has been inconsistent. He even considered James Bond who obviously didn't originate in gaming. And again, the SMT series didn't either. His arbitrary rules mean nothing.

One of my co-workers kids had a couple the GBA Hamtaro games and when I was bored with the few DS games I had at the time she let me borrow some of their GBA games. Ham Ham Heartbreak and Rainbow rescue were oddly compelling even though I was mom age for its target audience.

It's so cool to see someone mainstream covering the Hamtaro Games! They're honestly so underrated. That being said, I admittedly can't help but be disappointed that you did not see Rainbow Rescue through to the end. Not only is it arguably the best hamtaro game, but you've only completed less than half of it. Rainbow Rescue has a beefy post game that unlocks whole new areas to explore and ham-hams to meet. You even get the ability to choose any combination of the ham-hams from the clubhouse to come with you. It's kind of a disservice to the game to say you've reviewed it when you haven't even at least seen the second credits screen.

Hamtaro was one of the first anime that I saw as a little kid. I loved it, but I gradually forgot about it since I was a small child when it was on. I didn't have any home media of the anime, just a book and a polly pocket like toy of Hamtaro, and those were the only two items I had to prove that Hamtaro wasn't just a thing that I had made up. I found out about Ham-Ham Heartbreak when I was in middle school from the internet and I was so excited that it existed. I got a used copy and It's still one of my favorite GBA games.

I remember Hamtaro Ham-Hams Unite because it was a game my kid sister really loved from her childhood. She was born in the mid-90s and so grew up on my brother's hand-me-down Game Boy Color and the Game Boy and Game Boy Color games she borrowed from him, got as birthday/Christmas presents, or bought herself. I don't remember how she got Ham-Hams Unite, but I remember she adored it.

Alot of those Hamster simulation games were released by Ubisoft under the Petz series. Petz Hamsterz Life 2 for GBA,Petz Hamsterz Life 2 for DS(different than the GBA Version) ,Hamsterz Life for the DS and etc. Ubisoft localized alot of random Japan exclusive games under the Petz and Imagine name.
