In the 99 years since its incorporation, every mayor of Hamtramck has been Polish American. That will end January 2, 2022 in Hamtramck's centenary year, when Amer Ghailib will be inaugurated, along with an entirely Muslim city council. With every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Living here as an artist with strong documentary interests i would have to say there is no doubt this film will not come close to diving into the deep seated corruption of this area.. There are many issues at play here, three "documentary" film makers have interviewed me here the last ten years, they all wanted the commercial none of them wanted my truth

Muslim isn't an ethnic group and Bangladesh is a country. And second of all, Hamtramck is still one of the most diverse areas of Detroit.

Yea most of the people they show in this clip are Yemeni and Bangladeshi Muslim and I don't think it accurately represents the city. I've been living in Hamtramck for over a decade and in the three addresses I've had, around 1/3 of my neighbors are Yemeni and Bangladeshi Muslim. Most of my Bangladeshi neighbors are Hindi. There's a significant black population, whites, Eastern European. This film also says that only 10% of the city's residents are Polish. That's completely false - the city clerk reported in 2020 that 30% of the city's registered voters are Polish.

@@LindaWard313 I’ve lived there my whole life and I can tell you it was once a diverse city with many different ethnicities and backgrounds. Now it’s just consumed by Bengali’s and Yemeni people.
