You obviously don't understand the difference between private property and personal possessions. Private property refers to capital, not your precious toothbrush. You can see personal possessions turned into capital in capitalist USA when they take your possessions and charge you fines, fees and interest in order to get your possessions back. To the people possessing that capital, those fines, fees and interest is profit derived from capital. You could argue that this is socialist because it is the state that is seizing personal possessions, but it is done in a very capitalistic way, and the profit is probably going into certain involve state officials' pockets instead of the state in general, which is really just capitalism in the guise of state. All indicators point to the fascist stage of capitalism. But yes, keep bitching and moaning about other countries, like that's really going to improve your actual problems.
@ILikeFreedomYo4 жыл бұрын
@Vovin you need to look up the definition of socialism. And I don't mean Google's definition. I mean like classic dictionary definition from 20 years ago. It's state controlling the means of production. Your talking about Communism. The state owning all property. Which still doesn't justify your claim of taxes, fines and fees. There is still private ownership from where those fees are collected.
@ILikeFreedomYo4 жыл бұрын
@E 10 What I mean by Venezuela is the Venezuelan state is currently using any excuse or even no excuse to place private property into the States hands. In socialism there supposedly is still property. Venezuela has in managed like every other socialist dictatorship to cross the socialist boundary into Communism by seizure of not only means of production but property.

Here in California I had my car stolen one night from in front of my house. I reported the incident to police; filed a report and left my information for them to contact me. Surprisingly enough my car was found about two days later. Car was in a tow yard for 3 days before police reached out to me about it being recovered. I arrive at the tow yard to recover my vehicle ; and to my surprise I was told I had to pay 300$ for a police recovered vehicle + 60$ per day in the tow yard. At that point I wasn’t going to accept those fees so I decided to forfeit ownership ; which also came with a fee, another 60$ fee to give them OWNERSHIP of my own vehicle. I learned of the scam that is tow yards that day ,and how the police isn’t here for the interest of the common working man or woman.

Wonder if they straight up just towed it from you then tried to ransom it back to you. They probably do that all the time. Just straight up steal cars legally parked not in any violation and extort the owners. Disgusting. And they know either way they win. This is why all private tow yards should be illegal. It's outrageous crime. It's a car theft racket. Had a similar thing happen to me. Reported my car stolen, it was found, placed in a police tow yard and when I was able to pick it up was told I would have to pay. I should have fought it but I was desperate. I pray one day these criminals are stopped. When you don't have a conscience you'll steal or extort from anyone.

I was going to take a hit, but it wouldn't have been as bad as not having the car at all. The tow place told me they only release it if I have title or registration. Now mind you the car had been impounded before totally unrelated situation and I got it out with a proof of lease document. This time however they decided not to budge and sold my car within a 2 week time frame. I was devastated and still dealing with the situation as far as trying to get a new vehicle years later.

Furthermost, it is a direct threat to the lives of law enforcement officers, as a Constitutional American will keep calm and fire back, giving as good as he/she gets. Theft is illegal in all forms. The culture in general that police seem to have across the entire country is not one of "serving". Info not agree with people saying there is systemic racism but I wholeheartedly agree that the police in this country at every level need to be reigned in and held to at bare minimum the same standards we are. If this does not happen then there will continue to be a civil war between the public and the police, especially in inner cities. I had my car seized they said I was driving on a suspended license no arrests but I was moving that day I had a full car of clothes and boxes they took everything never got it back it took me three months to have my case dismissed completely from Court I was told that the City and the police were not responsible for paying the fine to the tow yard even though they called it because it took me 3 months to get my case dismissed the tow yard had already filed for a lost title and it was given to them they had taken my car and all of my belongings and donated it to the fire College to have it destroyed once my car was seized that first day there was never any opportunity or chance for me to get it back

They are stealing from the citizens of this city who are poor . Who work so hard for everything they have . This is so wrong and evil . The fact that they are selling people’s property and keeping the proceeds and more than likely not putting that money in the city is so unjust bruh .

The Institute for Justice is absolutely one of the best orgs out here. They do the work and bring in the public eye. Do they have a motive? "To see that all citizens of the United States receive due process and are treated equally under the Constitution." There is no special interest group represented here: YOU are the special interest group, WE the People are who they represent and protect. It doesn't matter whose life you want to say matters when it is becoming increasingly evident that to Law Enforcement Organizations "Your life doesn't matter." Or even worse, what is perhaps more sinister is that their actions indicate that "Poor Lives Don't Matter." They prey on the weak in society to fill their own pockets.

Forfeiture law only works if the police are lawful, and we know that human nature is to be greedy, so no it doesn't work.

I agree to both comments, and this is why you never let a friend drive your car in Wayne County... Cause you'll end up without a car period... And that is Totally F.Up

When they pick up a car and it explodes 24 hours later killing and wounding many officers and garage attendants it will be called a crime .....😎. SO WHAT ❗️

Given that big cities have prostitutes throughout the city. The cops can call anywhere "caught in a prostitute area" and that's enough to take your car.

Thank you. Sincerely thank you. Vice just did a story on a lady taking her fathers life savings to him from another state. The criminals stole it from her. Her dad is 79 years old. 82,000 gone. Life savings of a man that worked all his life. Payed outrageous taxes , gone. This is fucking wrong. Thank you for standing up. Where do I donate.

The federal government took down a similar system about 15 years ago in Baldwin Park, California. It was $1,000 per car to get it back from the towing company. The city was getting back a great kickback. The citizens were low income Hispanics who normally would not and could not fight the system.

Civil assets forfeiture needs to change to those convicted of a crime. Not a suspected or suspicious of a crime.
