Great video, but your part on the Jeness battle is incorrect. It actually occurred on Prairie Dog Creek in what is now Phillips County. Jeness misattributed to being on Beaver Creek. Scout Allison Pliley who knew the area like the back of his hand made this clear and drew a map to the battle site in Phillips County in 1909. He noted that Jeness in his writing didn't have a good handle on landmarks and terrain. Of course there were no towns when the battle happened. The battle was actually 3 small engagements the first day, with Armes having the main command, Jeness and Pliley in a rear guard and the wagon train and men placed on the banks of the Prairie Dog. The locations of all of this were identified in the 1960s. They were all unaware of the location of the others but did reunite at the wagon train on the creek on the second day and fought the Indians all day from that location on the second day.

Thank you again for another documentary. As a child, we read in Oklahoma schools about western expansion in a general sense, but we rarely if ever read the accounts as to what that entailed on a ground level.

Indians were a warrior based society that thrived on conflict. That's why they were placed on reservations to redirect them to more peaceful ways. Some tribes got along and some didn't.

How many war's has the USA been in ??????? Placed ???? You mean their land taken,,,their way of Life taken,,,,,,the Buffalo wiped out so Govt could steal their land ???? Small Pox in blankets ???? 1851 and 1868 Broken treaties ???? I am white and i would have fought with the Indian's. No man has Right to do that to another

The Cheyene dog soldiers attacked along the Solomon river in Mitchell co and south of us inLincoln county when Custer tracked a war party Black Kettle's village was destroyed. Although it is claimed often this was a peaceful village items stolen from settlers near Beloit were recovered and a war party was tracked to the village. A number of chidren were tortured and murdered. Several families who lost people still carry the anger.

Sand Creek started all of this and i wouldnt be surprised to learn that it was road agents that killed them Hun family and brought the mutilated bodies to Denver. Never underestimate how evil our Govt was and still is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Safe and Effective !!!!!!
