Hand Crank Loom Tutorial 2017

I have been using this loom for some time now, I bought mine through lincraft Australia in tasmania. I'm very happy with my knitting machine, however, it is important to learn how to maintain it so that you get plenty of knitting life out of it, so it's worth it to gently take it apart and clean it etc. Also I wouldn't crank Super fast on it, because remember it is plastic and so are all the moving parts, even cranking it at a moderate speed is still faster than hand knitting, I also would not recommend using an electrical device to crank your machine as it will shorten the life span of the cogs at the handle and possibly break the ring that runs around inside the machine that runs over the cog at the handle. I would recommend that children are supervised if they are to use it as it could become frustrating for them if things go wrong, I have had no trouble with mine, but sometimes children aren't as gentle. I can recommend this knitting machine to add to your knitting tools. Happy knitting!

I recently purchase one of these from a Lincraft Australia store during their 40% off sale...I'm glad there is this helpful vid showing how to operate it, this clip is now saved to a folder for quick access.. I did notice you had to hold the machine because it kept moving during use, which is not so useful...is there a means of keeping it in place?? I'm thinking of finding an old fold-up tray table, a thin sheet of plywood and making some slots to tuck the legs in..perhaps even a hole in the center so your project can drop through, make it easier to make longer projects..then add some clips under the board so it can clip onto the tray table frame.. I also noticed it doesn't come with a row counter...is there one seperate to this that can be purchased..mind you, I do have a knitting row counter I suppose I could use...it hangs around your neck so it can be kept close to hand...

I have bought some little suction cups from a variety store for a couple of dollars (NZ).They had hooks on them but they were easy to remove. I then took the little black rubber feet off the legs of the machine. They have a little slot in which you can slide a suction cup. As long as you put your machine on a smooth surface, those little suckers are not going to move anywhere! Hope this helps ❣️❣️

Instead of pulling the yarn on the outside of the hat, put the yarn on the inside then pull it tight. Also don't have part of the hat sticking through the hole. In other words, make it like a hat you buy with nothing sticking out of the hole.

Hy, i have tried the addi and prym , the sentro and singer knitting machines. They are all the same. Sentro has 48 needels, addi 46 as singer prym 44. I have measured the tubes made with all of them the diffrence is insignificant , sentro is 0.6 mm larger then the others. I have keept for my self the prym machine. I would like to know were you bought yours because i have a friend in England who wants to have it. She liked your tutorial. Mee too. Have a nice day and see you at the next tutorial.

I just got the prym maxi...is it easy to get the hang of? I am a crocheted by blood but started manual looms last year. This seems to be the natural progression. I've watched alot of videos and some say the prym is a handful to work with. Attach some clothes pegs to the bottom of your knitting. It’ll add a little weight and it should stop the skipping. Bag clips work well too. ❣️🌹

I just unboxed my new SENTRO knitting machine and am trying it out right now. My machine didn't come with the weights you show in this demo. Where did you get them? If they came with your machine, what else can I buy that will work just as well? My machine skips a lot of stitches and I am using a fairly thin type of yarn for my first try, the same weight or type as you are showing. I don't know how to remedy this. Could you give me some pointers about this. Is my machine a lemon???

You probably have some tension issues if it’s dropping stitches. I think this machine in particular came with the weights but you can use those large fold back paper clips or bag clips, any kind of clip you may have that have some slight weight to it. Doesn’t need to be any kind of fancy ones like he uses. Try it out and see if that helps! Also take your time with it :)

Its a fairly limited machine. You can't manually raise or lower individual teeth. You can't easily do ribbing.

Most of these circular knitters do not do well with cotton. The yarn needs to be able to stretch to knit properly.

Lucy Hernandez you can, but a 3 is best. A 4 sometimes gets difficult to catch the yarn as the needle passes by.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but, from the first row, the stitches slip. Not just one, four or five in a row. It's a brand new machine, is there a problem with my machine or if the problem is me ??? !! $ 130 for this toy, I wish it worked

sometime the problem it not you lol it the yarn those machine dont take all king of yarn you will have to start whit ssize 3 or 4 t o start bernat baby sport work good on my machine if you have some home give it a try

Make sure you hit all the yarn needles when doing the zig zag cast on. Also do you something to weigh it down. I might also suggest clamping or using suction cups on the feet to keep the machine from moving. Go slowly for the first 5-10 rows to make sure there are no dropped stiches as well.
