This week, we have a rarity - LLinusLLove getting smacked a bit, to the tune of almost a $30k pot. Most of the time, his aggression pays off - as possibly the best NLHE player in the world, he knows when and how to apply pressure such that his opponents are always in tough spots. Shouldn’t the 53s hand be part of med bet size? By jamming your value range is only flushes. No sets want to do this not even JJ. If Linus has 55, he would have bed med. now I’m sure Linus knows this and is probably doing a big exploit where he thinks Addamo never has the flush and is capped to 2P / sets which won’t have a tough time calling a 66% psb. Some may argue that he should at least have some flush blocker but Addamo’s flushes are mainly Kx/Qx/Jx. So I think once Addamo checks any Jd can take this 1.5x psb line with a small frequency. It’s definitely higher EV than 53s. Fun thing to check: I think Qd can also take this line if Addamo calls some of KJ/AJ with 1 diamond but folds 2p and sets. That would be a sick bluff but I’m confident it’s solver approved.

M quite curious as to why Addamo doesn’t sit with a full 100BB stack. I often see him only have 50-70BB. Maybe he think he has an edge or the edge other players have on him is a bit limited at that stack depth?

There was a young guy called Jared Bleznick (Harrington25) back in full tilt days that always played short stacked and was a big winner online. Gave him a big edge against players who werent use to it. And people like Phil Galfond use to complain even though he's well within his rights to do so

Uri when you get a 3bet oop on that flop with K6d do you think flatting better than a jam given the spr ? Cause ip player might jam on a blank turn with a lower draw like T9d and you have to fold

Generally yes, the hand is in a place where it's too strong to bluff and too weak to go for value so flatting should be a high frequency play. Sure you might get bluffed by Td9d but generally speaking you want to keep that hand in your opponent's range rather than shove and force him to fold it.

Isn´t Llinus super caped on that turn and river? even if he has a set, he has to value like half pot against all the 2 pairs of AQJ and call a x/p a % of the time or something. I guess him being who he is maybe has enough flushes there?? sounds really hard.

I dont see why Linus has a range advantage on this flop. Addamo is uncapped; he could easily have all the sets as well as overs and flush/straight draws. If anything Linus is sightly capped as he's very unlikely to have all the jj after smooth calling the button.

Range advantage would mean: A higher % of our total range connects with the board. - What you actually mean, instead: Addamo has a Nut advantage. In terms of game strategy: Addamo wants to be quite selective with his C-bets, but if he does he wants to leverage his Nut advantage by choosing a big sizing.

@@1to1IELTS If only for the simple reason that Linus also has a 3-bet range, with SCs or Broadways (AK, etc) in it, that to larger parts open and whiff on Addamo's side. 😉
