This style of video is perfect, you are very good at explaining these complicated dynamics

Last week's bonus question: Why are the specific suits Jd 9h (on 6c7sJs5h) preferred for LLinus' turn shove? Answer: The turn shove is trying to own draws - so you don't want the flushdraw suit, OR the backdoor flushdraw suit - those are more commonly raising the flop as bluffs, and you want your opponent to have those

I noticed that with the J9s combos the suits were shoving at pretty much the same frequency. Regardless of clubs hearts etc. can you explain that? (Love the vids)

That was the effect that I predicted for the backdoor flush suit but it wasen't the reality of the situation w/ the solver jaming the J9o w/ 9c more, J9o w/ Jc less, and Jc9c for the same ev but at a higher freq than the other J9s combos.

Uri-sensei! Please clarify the mystery anderspovirk mentioned below and last week... about solver's higher preference to shove the J9o holding the 9c as opposed to holding the Jc. I speculated that holding the 9c blocks 98cc flop x/r which positions J9o to better "own" the remaining draws since now it runs into less nuts. Seems pretty intuitive if true. Or is it just margin of error type of solver noise that doesn't merit much thought?

@@moebius1714 Hey dude, do you have some kinda study group. I'm kinda between groups rn and i'd image we view the game in a compatable way. If so lmk :)

I would think B75 on the flop is ok as long as you have overbets in your toolkit on the turn and river to threaten stacks, since B75/B150/B150 gets you all in the same way B120/B120/B120 does. I would also think a solver would prefer a slightly smaller sizing because it's a dry flop in which LLinus has a lot of air, and you don't have to bet as much to make air indifferent. That said, solvers often prefer geometric sizing, and B120 would be the geometric sizing here. I think your sim is right about the infrequency of LLinus's flopraises since he lacks the nut advantage and B75 is already a big enough bet for Nacho to leverage his nut advantage on the turn and river. Considering the vast majority of his range prefers to call it makes sense that his best hands will have to be used to protect that calling range the majority of the time. If LLinus is raising too much there (and if he's doing it with K9 he probably is) then that would allow Nacho to exploitatively hammer at his calling range that's now too weak against Nacho's range with the nut advantage. Turn small bet makes sense I think if you consider that a lot of Nacho's bluffs include high cards that just made a pair. Q is probably the best card in the deck besides a deuce, and those hands prefer a smaller bet with the range advantage. Interestingly, in my sim Nacho is predominantly block betting the river here, and in my sim it's actually an EV mistake for him to be mixing JJ/TT. Now, my sim also has LLinus almost never (less than 1%) raising the flop, so we can take that with a grain of salt, but I'm guessing the logic is that whenever LLinus does take this line, 9x is such a huge portion of his range on the river Nacho loses EV by allowing him to check those back. If LLinus shoves over the block then Nacho is mixing calling with JJ/TT

I'd imagine if Nacho's oPs (overpairs) cBet freq' is LESS homogynous otf (TT>JJ>QQ etc) then linus is incentivized to Raise IP slightly more, as now his Immortal nuts (2p+) potentially slightly lose value on oC (overcard) turns from Nacho's uPs now (overpairs turned underpair to TP) whereas vs homogynous oP cB strata LL's Immortal nuts don't have much incentive to rush pot growth (esp vs just smaller than GEO) It'd be interesting to see the dynamic between these 2 hand classes converge thru/ cfr

13:05 Many of those 2x and 4x you pointed out were not bluffs, but two-pair for value. But surely yes some and we bluff those.

What site do they plan on and who's up between Linus and nacho? Who is up in all the HU battles between Linus and Berrisweet?

This was played on coin poker, between Linus and Berri, should be slightly up :)
@moebius1714 Жыл бұрын
I don't know why someone said this is Coinpoker when it's clearly WPN. As for Berri vs Linus they played half NL half PLO. I think Linus was up in NL and Berri up in PLO, no surpise. I even remember seeing a graph but can't find it now. From what I recall overall results where break evenish..
