Last weekend I was finally able to get out on the kayak again. It was only for a couple hours and I was a bit rusty, but still managed to score a couple nice eating fish! Enough for my breakfast & lunch! That's what we call living off the ocean!
It felt really good being out there. Kayak fishing is really one of the most enjoyable types of fishing there is. No hustle, no big boat, just you and the water, relaxing and catching a few fish. I hope to do it again soon!

Great catches ! Snapper is always fun to catch on light tackle . One thing tho, If the fish is too big on the hand-line , try to pull it in first , instead of spooling the line back on the holder, this is because if the fish isn’t hooked deep enough and plus if it is really struggling fiercely you can easily loose it. Can personally relate and have seen it happened to many other fishermen. I used to fish the same way until one day an old captain told me this. And 90% of the time the line never tangles.

Although some people may choose to do it that way....When you fishing with light line and in close quarters, its always better to pull the fish on the caster...The thin line tangles very easily and in close quarters it can hook up and burst quite easily...So although everyone has their choice, in my opinion, when fishing with light line...Use the caster....
