Awesome build and swim! Did you see Jeremy's Wooden Lures has been smashing his split shots on the anvil to make them into DISC shapes before dropping them in? He can fit more weight in a smaller space by doing that and keeps the center of gravity as low as possible. It's brilliant really. I wouldn't have messed with the paint after the little issue. The fish don't care, only the fishermen.

Thanks. Almost always smash the split shots to fit more, and I did in the holes I did not show. The two I did show were the perfect size for that bit so I thought I would just use them.

A trick for being able to melt lead into your baits without using a lead pot is to use a mini blowtorch to melt it. I use this method all the time and it works really well.

Nice striper pattern. I’ve had the same issue with window screen pulling up paint like that. I think what causes it is paint not being total dry or being to thick before pulling the window screen on tight.

Does that bait float? Nice job really, I would have stopped before the black, but even that looks pretty good. No idea how old you are, but you're doing very well on the building and the video editing, keep up the good work and keep pushing your boundries!

Try a clear coat after a color base. It’ll give you a nice smooth slate to paint on.

Dude I was just thinking that you should make a big swim bait. You should try to make one even bigger like the mother chaser. What type of airbrush do you use?
@nolansbaits8623 жыл бұрын
Iwata eclipse. Same as Marling Baits.

I just found your channel, and this was my first Nolan video. First, you are WAY too hard on yourself! Were there some cosmetic issues with this lipless swimbait? Yes, but they were minor, and you figured out how to make most of them less obtrusive. Second, THIS LURE SWIMS BEAUTFULLY! It's stable and has a great wiggle. If you think it's useless, send it to me, and I'll catch striped bass and bluefish until they eventually destroy it!

Looks great matey, what type of wood you use?

You have a talent for sure. Looks great. How long does it take you to make one of those?
@nolansbaits8623 жыл бұрын
Not too long. If I put all my time into it probably a couple hours. But the clear coat takes 24 hours to cure fully, so a little over a day.

I don’t think I used anything I made in this video but I started using something I made in the next video. I’ve made two knives one is good and one was bad. I think I might’ve lost the good one though cause I haven’t seen in a while.
