Actually I have had lots of men come to me where they have caught the back of the hem with their shoe and ripped the hem out or snagged it pretty bad. Its mostly because that hole floopy lip on the hem inside that they catch on. If I do the hem by hand I keep that to bare minimum and it seems to stop that from happening.

I sometimes have to put my pants on in a hurry which makes my foot catch on the inside hem of a pants with stitches like these and breaks the hem. Is there anyway to prevent this? Only thing I can think of is just folding the fabric over maybe an 8th of an inch or something so there won't be much if at all for my foot to catch on

Hello, so the cross stitch is to create a looser stitch then a whip stitch for an invisible hem right ? The second stitch is to have an even more loose or flexible stitch than the first one ? Sorry if I made mistakes I don’t have the exact vocabulary in English when it comes to sewing

Thank you for this demonstration. I do however find it somewhat odd that the brown pants were serged with white thread. Bespoke is usually matched right? Anyway I love the video 😊and will hem my pants with your method from now on.

hi :-) for demonstration purposes in the video I used white thread on the darker fabric. I wanted to make the stitching very clear. Otherwise you're right, you should use the same coloured thread! :)
