I feel like these versions of Bed of Roses are some of the closest to the original recording, if not THE closest. They all sound incredible. Jon's voice was so powerful here. And Richie, man! He's brilliant, I wish he'd never left the band. Thank you for sharing this footage!

It sounds so similar because they were lip syncing to the original track. And yes Richie was incredible. But imo the best thing he did was leave the band

At THAT time? They were not even 10 years in their carreers. Today they are at 35 years. Although this was Bon Jovi's first come back with their 5th studio album and almost having written all their greatest hits at the time, this was stil a young Jon. The guy was around 30 years old back then.

Lovely song! It’ll always be one of my favourites, it was used as a song at my friend’s funeral. She was an avid Bon Jovi fan, but passed away of ovarian cancer at 27.😢 Will always remember this song!

why? the footage is 25 years old. richie has moved on. being in a band is not a life sentence. plus, he was always a hired member of the band. so if Richie wants to do other things i think fans should let him be. his choice-his life

Richie was very well compensated but only Jon has his name on the contract. the record company only wanted to sign Jon, so therefore, Richie was a hired hand. he was probably the most prolific hired hand off all time and the most paid, but anyway you slice it those are the facts.

They will never go back to the 80s that ship has sailed and the longer richie has been away the divide deepens the whole jon and richie thing has sadly now gone and that was richie decision to leave even though a bad one so unfortunately we now have to move on and support jon and the other members of the band and it's like most close relationships they come to an end sad but true

Alec John Such was a massive part of the band then too. It was Jon's ship but each of the guys added their own personality to the band. Something we may be lacking a bit now. Which is understandable with guys leaving and new members coming in. Lot of responsibility on Jon to keep things going.

@@brettroscoe007Jon also sacked him ;-) Hugh Macdonald isnt classed as part of the band, even though he has played with them almost from the Start (i think he played on Runaway). IIR Jon said he would never officially replace Alec as the BJ bass player.

They were in the glory days then. Hit after hit and a great band who were living the dream. Ritchie showing why he was perfect in that band. I saw them as a support act all the way through to arenas and they were just kids who had the rock world at their feet. Now it's Irv Azoff and success and $$$
