Great ideas in your video, Christine! You had me laughing at the “rash” expression! 😂 I’ve made a few bags but nothing out of pleather yet. Do you have any tips for working with pleather? How does the machine like it? I’m looking to make a bucket style with it soon. Happy sewing!

Hi my Pfaff was find with pleather but I know you can get a leather foot for some machines or use a silicone foot to stop it sticking. Someone has also suggested using needle lube, not sure what that is tbh. Give it a go xxx

Hi Christine. Wow -- what yummy fabric and pattern combos! When you got to the east west bag and showed the pleather fabrics, all I could think of was that with your embroidery skills, you could put night creatures on the pockets -- maybe black-on-black to match the theme of the bag and it's subtle elegance. I'm thinking the creatures could be moths, but there are plenty of other nocturnal animals to choose from (hedgehogs, big cats, owls, foxes, coyotes, mice, bats, raccoons, etc.). I love Country Cow designs patterns, I have made a couple and have 2 more patterns I bought to make thus year. Great tutorials too, I am a visual learner so they work great. So helpful if you need help ir advice too.

Morning love the video as always, I was thinking when you mentioned suede that last night when on pound fabric I saw some interesting fabrics. They have an upholstery velvet in popping pink and they have a fabric type called velboa which sound suede like but that’s all in animal print, i mentioned it because I think you might like animal print too. Looking forward to seeing your makes next week 😊

Hi Christine, that was a very inspiring vlog! I made the Swoon Ethel Tote bag (free pattern), which is roomy, has plenty of pockets, is bosal supported and is nothing like your average tote bag that you carry the shopping in. It's definitely a handbag! I was inspired seeing Laura's version (Sew Very Laura). I get compliments on it and it won first prize in our village show! I will probably make it again but add a zip across the top and insert the lining differently. I think the method used for the the Helen's Closet Costa Tote (also free but definitely a shopping tote) might be a better way to do the lining because there's no bagging out.

Great ideas Christine take a look at Diane Spencer Ogg, Lisa Lam and Mrs H has some fab older patterns before she took over Swoon patterns which are also fabulous, my first bag was a free pattern from Swoon. I do love Noodlehead though 😊

Hi I am very lucky to have a Pfaff machine but not industrial. I've also made bags using my standard Brother machine, but it didnt like pleather. So give it a go with canvas first and I'm sure your machine will cope just fine xxx
