Scarlatti was king of the harpsichord, better maybe than even Bach. Kind of like Liszt and the piano. Handel was better at organ than Scarlatti, however. But I bet JS Bach was a better organist than both. All three are great composers.

Santosificationable I have to disagree. Bach’s technicality in many of his keyboard music outside of the organ is far more sophisticated and difficult. If you can play Bach, you can play Scarlatti but if you can Scarlatti that doesn’t mean you can play Bach.

@@Oceananswer I wish it was that black and white, Scarlatti has a unique texture compared to both, Bach was better counterpuntally, but Scarlatti came from a different school of music namely in the neopolitan tradition his improvisational skills were developed from an early age maybe he could've written beautiful harmonies and sophisticated themes but bach would won in the fugal style

Scarlatti better harpsichordist than Bach?? Have you ever listened to Bach's harpsichord concertos, or the book for Anna Magdalene, or the Goldberg Variations, or the famous solo of Brandenburg concert 5? Surely their style was completely different -Scarlatti had nothing of Bach's counterpoint, Bach had nothing of Scarlatti mannerisms - but to place the Sicilian above the German means to understand nothing about music.

Esse "Handel vs Scarlatti " veio de um filme em que mostra Handel e Scarlatti tendo um duelo de cravo. Mas, quem fez a música foi Handel: Passacaglia in G-Minor. No entanto, a música do vídeo está bastante alterada, um arranjo, mas lembra a música original.

Domonico Scarlatti should of been the winner in of the harpsichord. although we are not sue exactly how the preformances went that day but over all handel wrote better organ music and scarlatti harpsichord and both of their choir music was equal.

this is amazing, we can rarely hear someone play the organ so well. there are no organ players around. I have advice for you, if you're reading this, play some modern pieces or rock music pieces on the organ that way you'll get a lot of viewers and subscribers because they'll be impressed by an old instrument playing modern music.

not sure what is Scarlatti's and what Handel's, generally I prefer Handel as composer of orchestral music, but there is not comparison to Scarlatti for all the rest: Scarlatti historically outperformed Handel on the "cembalo" and on keyboard completely.
