Handheld and ECU Update Video (Legacy Hardware)

In order to re-flash your system or to update it to the latest software, you need to follow this process for the update. All you need is a computer and a flash drive and you will be all set! Head over to acesefi.com, and get the software for free!

My 5 inch wont update at all. I can restart the handheld with the USB in, or put the USB in when running, press the button in the lower left corner and click OK, "Meter program update" shows up and the USB light blinks but nothing happens. The update program closes and a long beep is heard, and it goes back to the startup screen. Uncompressed the files, tried moving them out of the 2.01 parent directory, and nothing works.

Just did the update on my Killshot. I was downloading from a Mac and found that the files weren't compressed. However the handheld wouldn't recognize the update in it's native file structure. I pulled the bundle of files out of the so each one was separate and not in the one main folder and it worked great.

Yes! The Handheld will not read compressed files.

went to fire up a new install , it started but having fuel spray out the tb the screen went black , went to re start system ,the touch screen would not change with touch . only the top rt and bottom rt buttons do anything and after a few minuets the screen went black again help the install looks so amazing

Do I need to go through the startup wizard after the update? Had my car running but I saw some spelling errors so wasn’t sure.

Does the killshot have ignition control built into it? Does the touch screen have to be hooked up at all times for tge car to run or will it run without tge handheld unit hooked up? Im thinking of getting everything in a kit for sbc including tge fuel pump.

When you do a re-flash do you have to rebuild your entire tune file for Jackpot systems that already have a custom tune created?

Yes, the re-flash is equivalent to a factory reset. It's not necessary to upgrade to the newest software with every update. Great question!

Im not sure exactly what im doing wrong i downloaded file extracted it copied ove rtonthe usb went out and plugged it into the handheld and nothing happens.

You ever get an answer? I have the same issue, plug it in and turn it on, and the update screen appears and then goes away, it's not updating.

I just got a new killshot from summit yesterday…….does it already have the update on it, if so how can i tell??

You can check the update under "info" in the settings section. However, it is not necessary to update your system every time there is an update. This is mostly used as a factory reset, but it updates the system as well.

Hello! This is the update process for the Handheld and ECU. If you would like to reflash your system, this is the process, but it is not necessary for a new system.

They just put out new firmware that has like a crazy good learn on first start up. I just did mine and my fuel trimmed out just fine.
