Another way I’ve seen is people in the mountain bike side of things get people to do a push up on the ground in the most comfortable way they can and then measure how far their hands are apart to give an indication for bar width.

I actually did this on my KX450 , shorten 1,5cm on each side. It was for sure a improvement for cornering because of my short arms

This is the best video I have seen ALL YEAR. I'm 5'3 and 100lbs on a GasGas MC250f and have been dealing with all the problems described since moving up to big bikes (A couple years now) I feel the lack of control of my bike has significantly brought down my confidence on the bike and I can't tell you the last time I was able to get out on the track and ride at the ability I know I am capable of. I will be cutting down my bars as soon as humanly possible. Thank you SO much for putting this video out there. You have no idea how many specialists i've talked to and this is the first time I'm hearing this! Truly incredible content!

Can you do a video concerning fore/aft mounting holes on the triple clamp and how that affects handling characteristics of a bike; placing the bars further forward towards the front tire versus further back towards the rider? Thank you Sir.

Great question....and possibly deeper than you might think. We could expand that to a video that covers all aspects of ergonomics. Regarding the bar position there may be a trade off between rider comfort / weight distribution Vs leverage around the steering axis. There is so much that is at play here. Taller riders who place there bars forwards are often also benefitted by heavier springs that often is not considered by spring rate calculators.

@@user-sp8eb6iz7f I have no idea what you are talking about....Sound information with absolutely no cost to the end user. Can't get better than that. Most aftermarket bars actually come with cut lines on them to tailor them to the rider......But be like that if you wish.
