I would love a video explaining how you get your lines so clean! Mine always look like they are made of a bunch of dots lol
@mitch-lawless5 ай бұрын
Enter the skin on about a 30 degree angle in-line with the direction of your linework so that the ink overlaps with each poke, rather than the ink just depositing straight down, which makes a dot.

I have a question any reason for the rubber gloves since your doing the tattoo on yourself ,my wife and I did one on each other and I didn't use them just seeing if I need to next time ,just curious thanks and great work 👍
@rsmith924 жыл бұрын
I think it's always a good idea to wear some protective gloves whenever you're doing something that could possibly cause an infection. Who knows what kind of critters we could introduce even if we just washed our hands. I also do it to be consistent for when I work on other people, so I don't forget.

What’s the best way to transfer an image for stick and poke onto the skin after designing
@rsmith924 жыл бұрын
You should use some kind of tattoo transfer paper. You can order them off of Amazon if you're in the States or one of the countries that have Amazon, if not there are other vendors online where you can find it. You draw it on the stencil and then use plain deodorant or special stencil transfer liquid to make it transfer to the skin. Good luck!

what kind of RL needle you use? When i poke deeper or less deep it always runs. 2pokes and i can not see the line anymore, when i look at your poking, when you poke i only see little thicker line and you cant finish the letter with little run!! I dont get it is have tryd everything also with vaseline!! Helppppp Greets a dutchie

I really started to do the poke method to see how the tattoo comes out. I might just start with this method first before using a tattoo gun. Dope...Awesome good!👏 I might do it this weekend on my hand 😎

Hello, sorry for translation. Which tattoo needle do you use? RL3, RL,5, RL7?
@rsmith924 жыл бұрын
Hi, for this tattoo and most others with thick lines, I like to do the first outline in a 5rl, or sometimes a 3rl. I then go back over it in a different session once it's healed with a thicker 11rl to make the lines bolder. Good luck!
@ishakozyoldas51264 жыл бұрын
@@rsmith92 Thank you for your comment. So why not use the first 11 rl? In this way, tattoo can be done in a shorter time.
@rsmith924 жыл бұрын
No problem! You could definitely do it that way, but for bigger pieces with different line thicknesses I do it with just the thinner one first because the stencil seems to wear off quickly and I want to just get some ink in the skin. It also seems to help the line look more full after have two full passes. Usually there are tiny little holes after the first session once it all heals so I fill them in and make the lines thicker all in the 2nd session. But you could definitely skip this step if you wanted to.

@rsmith924 жыл бұрын
I'm not really sure what you mean by long taper or short taper. The only difference in needles I use are how many needles I use. The rl stands for round liner so a 5rl has five needles and the 11rl has eleven. They're the same shape though, one just makes thicker lines.
